Love the engine..... hate the car. An engine like that should never be disrespected like that.

why does everyone hate hondas when they have pretty much the same potential as any mitsubishi....there are riced out mitsus everywhere too....i hate it when people bash on a ****ing car couse of its bad reputation....take a look at Stephanie Eggum's civic....yea its a FWD civic.....and it runs consistant 7's...

david mitsu rock, is probilly the most intelligent comments of them all. The fact that people hate on hondas due to reputation is completly ignorant, and shows a total bias. Most likely this is a GSR on boost, doesn't look to clean as far as the swap goes, but nevertheless, can have alot of potential. "At the end of the day it's still a honda" is the stupidest thing i've ever heard. I wouldn't exactly be proud of having an eclipse either? It's absolutely POINTLESS to disregaurd a car, because of it's name brand. But years of building cars will teach you guys otherwise.
I understand alot of members here are young, so it predictable nonetheless. I'm a muscle head fanatic, i've owned more high power v8's, then most people heres age. Yet i still dont EVER show the imaturity displayed here when someone shows me their four cylinder car. Wether it be a GSR, 4g63, or a 1.3 rotary, when a car is well done. you have to give it respect. Nevemind the reputation the car company has of being "riced out", becuase we all know, their is whole lot of horrendous eclipses' on the streets now. I build hondas, dsm, fords, chevys, and mazda rotaries. For track only and regular driving.
Learn to appreciate, and not have such an ignorant bias towards other cars. It really shows the lack of knowledge you have. And if we really wanted to get statistical, honda engines put out as much, if not more power then mitsu's. ALL MOTOR. And unless the fastest evo run's low 7's, it's definitly not beating a honda.

I never said that they cant produce a car. Nor have I ever said they were unreliable. In fact, I can say that my Civic (as much as I hated it) was a reliable car... probably (if not definatly) more so than my DSM or 3G. I just dont like them. Gus, Im gonna have to say that theres a 5:1 ratio of Hondas to Mitsus that are riced out. Most Honda owners that I have come across are usually under the assumption that putting a giant spoiler and a half-assed body kit on a 94 Civic DX will automaticly make it the fastest thing in 3 states. Which can more than likely be attributed to the fact that Hondas are cheap, and reliable... not to mention plentiful. In short, I can respect ANY car, so long as its done correctly and is driven by a respectible, and knowledgeable person. Be it, a Ferrari or a Tercel it matters not.

then why say at the end of the day its a honda...its an econobox just like every mitsu or every toyota or every nissan....i respect all platforms period....lots of them are riced out? so what hondas put down some amazing numbers for such little displacement. hell there are NA hondas running 9's!!!!

Im not the one who said that... and IMO Honda has many styling flaws... specificaly in the earlier models.

I dont see that as a honda...just like i dont count brent rau's car as a DSM
davidmitsusrock
6/13/2007 6:16:16 PM
it has a honda motor...as brent rau has a mitsu owner....how can you not count them as a honda/mitsu?
Sebba
6/13/2007 6:44:02 PM
Because of the chassis.
Dusty Eclipse

True... Im with Sebba on this one... Those are drag specific cars, with tube chassis and frames.

Thanks.
Now, John Sheps car.... THATS a DSM

i see what you are saying but the heart of the car is still mitsu...and the motor in the honda is still a honda motor...not to mention these cars are still door slammers...the heart of any vehicle is the motor...the motor makes the car imo. b18 drag motor on a tube chassis=honda brent rau's 2.3l? 4g63 on tube chassis=mitsu.

wow, just when i think the inexpirience of members on this forums cant get any lower, i read the comment "sebba" just made.
Just to not get into it, and keep all of this proffesional, i wont answer that. I do hope however. you progress, and learn more about automotive engineering, or at least enough not to sound so ignorant.

Dave, I thought they said it was an H series motor?
Dusty Eclipse

Also, the motors in those types of cars tend to be blueprinted and balanced, I mean... the whole 9... custom made heads and whatnot... just because the block itself (which has probably been also heavily modified to withstand what its putting out) came from Hondas mfg. plant, does not make it a Honda motor. If I attain myself a way to make aluminum blocks and slap Ferrari logos on it at the end, it does not make it a Ferrari motor. Im NOT saying that Stephanies car isnt impressive, of COURSE it is... you would have to be a fool to not see that, but IMO its really not a Honda per se.

yes i think it was....i dont know why i said b18 but its still a honda motor...h22 i think? possibly h23...but doubtful...some of the quickest hondas in the world are sohc though.

also if any of you remember how brent raus car started out...they didnt just start out with a tube chassis drag car...it was an awd drag car back in the 90's...then it evolved for some badass record breaking... go to
www.dsmtimes.org ....HE holds the record not shep...anyone want to argue that?

well, since we all seem to be bench racing with cars that aren't ours...who was in the 10's first; a DSM or a 3S?
Dusty Eclipse
6/14/2007 1:46:05 PM
Judging by the looks of it, it started out as an H22a. That car was never anything other than a tube chassis though, Dave. The Demi-DSM did used to be a DSM... but Stephs car has always been a dragger.

are you possitive with that?^either way back onto HONDA accomplish ments....hondas are the verge of running 8's NA...with is fairly amazing if you ask me...how many other car companies have 4 cylinders doing that?
