I once brought a car like that. Contact her and say I see you have this car here and just be nice and offer to take it off her hands you may beable to get it for 5-6k if you are paying cash.

Well the newest delay has come up now. I finally talked to the women who lives in the home. She was not willing to talk much about it. as soon as I said Car she says " oh its not for sale, its not even mine. It is just being Stored here" so I asked if she knew how I could get ahold of the owner she says "no im sorry I really dont" and started to close the door. At that time I was furious and I thanked her and walked away knowing she lied.
The neighbor already told me the home wa owned by the people in the other house near it but when I kocked on there door they pretended to not be home Im guessing because I am a stranger to them who knows. So my thoughs are the person who owns the home this women lives in might lead me to the car owner since they own the property which the car is being "stored". So tomorrow I am running the VIN# in a buddies police cruiser to find the last name it was registered to and then start my search for that person from there.
Its not looking to bright for this car to be saved at the moment

It looks like you'll have to just settle with a 12 second EVO for a little longer....damn, life must suck.
lol, j/k
I know it was a good prospect, it still may pan out.

Problem is if you keep pushing now then they'll KNOW it's worth a bit more than what you're offering. You're getting into a tricky game now and it could get complicated quick. Play your cards carefully and see what turns up. Good luck.

Newest update the car is ownd or registerd by a older women who is 76years old. She shares the same last name as the women who lived at the house except diff first names and the women from the house is 56 years old. I was told the house property was owned by the brother in law of the women living there (if that is easy to follow). So I think I am back to square one with the story that a older women bought the car for her son who may have died or something not really sure but just a thought.
THe car was last registerd by the older women in 2002 not inspected though milage unknown at that time. So the car must be in her name I am going to research the last name and see if any one died at a young age near this familes area and also do some more detective work to find where she is located. I am worried a bit I hope she didnt lose a son or anything because it will not be easy to persue ,also there are 3-4 members of this family who are police officers and im sure having a officer run the VINs to get personal info is not exactly legal who knows though. Either way the story changes on a aily basis and I am still hot on the trail as of right now.
Those who say offer $5k or what ever I thought about it but im not sure it will be intirely nessesary if need be I will but I am shooting for as cheap as possible (not to sound like cheap I know what these cars are worth but looking at thepics someone else doesnt)
OK so it took 5 mins. but newest update is the older women did have a husband who did pass away in 2002 which was the year last registered but never got inspected so he registered then passed away never getting to inspect it again. BIG problem though the death aniversary just pasted last week so timing couldnt have been worse. I have no clue what approach to take now, anyone want to chim in??!!??

Well... say your sorry for her loss and just listen to what she has to say. You need to in some way tell her that you are in need of a car and the car sitting in her back yard rusting and eroding is what you need. See what she has so say and play your next move on her reaction really...

The hardest part of it sounds like finding who the true owner of the vehicle is...do whatever it takes to find the owner and talk to THAT person and THAT person only, not the relatives or neighbors of this person...You don't need anyone else throwing a wrench in this for ya...see if they are interested in selling a car that they have not driven or touched in years and tell them you'll take it away from them and get it out of their yard so it isn't an eyesore to them anymore...Do not let them know that they are sitting on a gem...Just be sympathetic for their loss if a past loved one owned it and talk to them no matter how long you're there even if it is all day long...Let them know that you will take phenomenal care of the vehicle too and offer to drive it over and show it to them once you get it "reconditioned"....If the owner of the vehicle is no longer alive then one of the relatives should be able to get a Power of Attorney to sign off it...If you are lucky to be the next owner of the vehicle then registering it may take some time and be a pain in the ass if the previous owner is now deceased...but keep working on it man and don't give up and especially don't let the one lady you talked to who said the vehicle is just being "stored" scare you with that b.s. because if it was really only being "stored" then someone would have surely moved the vehicle to a storage garage by now and not let it sit around and let the paint fade and things rot from it...And you're right about you asking them what they want for the vehicle instead of you coming right off with an offer...Let them set the price and then you make a reasonable offer to them...Don't let them go by "Kelley Blue Book" or anything similar because that can't be accurate for a vehicle that has sat around in the yard for years and use that to YOUR advantage....Good luck man, you found a diamond in the rough there! Don't give up until it is completely dead! It's a shame a car like that one is just rotting away because of some stubborn old lady...Sweetness and kindness can get you everywhere in this type of situation! Also, don't roll up to the person's place in your Evo..Roll up there in a Taurus or something of the sorts...You don't want to tip them off that you would be modding the car

I stopped reading you post shreff because I Found the owner I just replied with that info a few minutes ago no big deal but Also I am thinking of rolling up in the Comcast work van or something.
Or even cutting off her cable when she is not home and routing hte trouble call to myself so that way when I fix it for her I have made a good impression on her. But I dont know I need ideas

Also might think about offering her something like bringing it by when it's restored or taking her for a ride in it after it's done. (Nothing like a sentimental bit thrown in there to help push things over the edge). Just an idea. Sometimes the sentimental value returned might just do it for them.

Thats a better idea... tell her your interested in restoring it!
