So im sure most everyone knows the EVO has been up for sale for a few weeks. I came across a dealer local that has a 1994 Twin Turbo Supra for sale for a rather desent price. I am not sure if the car is actually at the dealer or not but it is on there website as for sale so we will see. The car is an automatic which is its biggest downfall in my eyes, but asside from that the autos are faster than the 6spds. This car was traded in by a Supraforums member a few weeks ago it was a female driver. She Dynod back in march at 399RWHP on Pump gas 93 octane and 18PSI. The car has all basic mods for performance (or in the supra world known as BPU hahaha) visualy it has 18 in rims that are not all that bad looking on the pics and it has the 97-98 front end light conversion which is a huge plus because the headlights alone are about $1000. So opinions here should I put the EVO to stock and go make the trade off??? \

So the known mods
Apexi intake
Blitz nur spec exhaust
HKS catless downpipe
18 inch rims
Turbo xs HPMBC
Greddy bcc
TRD recordable boost guage
and it is on ttc.

Get a 99 trans am, then go to 4redlinemotorsports.com and run 10's.

uuh.. yeah. Evos are awesome, but it doesn't get much better than a Supra. I would.

i dont think there is any way he would get a WS6 when he can get a supra for around the same price as one of those would cost

For the reason of automatic i would say no and wait. Personally i dont feel in control driving an auto and i feel much more comfortable driving a 5-6spd. I guess its all upto what your looking for. I say wait.

what he is really getting at that he can pretty much do a straight up trade for the supra with the evo. He will be paying what he is now for a much faster car. So i really dont see any reason not to. Its not like he couldnt later just sell the supra and get a 5-speed.

If you want the Supra go for it however, it's not a six speed and that is a big downfall. You may like the power, looks, and the idea of having a Supra but no six speed is really a black mark. What happened to the Supra in the backyard with the six speed. If there is a possibility you could pick that one up I would wait.

Who's talking about a ws6? All ws6's are convertables, their slow as balls. My one friend has a 98ta(picked it up for 15000 w/ 60k) and another had a 99ws6, stock the 98 reg ta walked the ws6. For 20g you could have a low 11 sec car, and for another 8g a low 10.

i was thinking about the newer ones sorry. But as far as an automatic supra and what it can do. They are faster than the 5-speed and this one already runs around a low 12. Plus the only reason i can really see getting a supra over a trans am is that the rarity. I see plenty of trans ams up here but only once have i seen a twin turbo supra.

And sebba watch this video and then let me know what you think. Like you i was skeptical about the auto until i saw this.

I would trade the EVO and take the Supra. Supras are ultra rare, and a lot of people have never even seen one. That's one car you could probably sell down the road for a good profit too.

The WS-6 package comparable to the SS package on the Camaro's and was available as hard and soft top. Obviously only a one year snapshot is all I provided here. This was pulled from the 4th generation birds portion of transamworld.com. And FYI, the firehawk was more potent than the Camaro SS and the WS6 Ram air with equal HP and Torque ratings of 335. The 1998 SS Camaros/ TA's were only rated at 320 HP, BUT, on a chassis dyno they would post 300 RWHP and 13 second times with 104-106 MPH. Not so bad off the showroom floor. Apparently the General was looking at insurance costs of the drivers when rating these motors. And oh yeah....mmmm, 6 speed manual transmnissions.
RARE 1991-1992 Firebird Firehawk produced 350 HP, but were limited to only 25 cars between the two years.

1999 PONTIAC FIREBIRD PRODUCTION FIGURES
MODEL COUPE CONVERTIBLE TOTAL
Firebird 17,170 1,245 18,415

Formula 1,427 175
(w/WS6) 1,602
Trans Am 10,343 1,027
(non WS6) 11,370
Trans Am WS6 3,820 1,002 4,822

Total Firebird 32,760 3,449 36,209

Trans ams are gay end of that discusion They are a waiste of time to me. Johns dad has a WS6 TTops not rag top it runs a 13.4 stock and for $26k To me that is no bargain at all for a car that isnt all that great looking

You want rare I can give you the figures of the Supras. Figure this the supra above only 97 made in that trim in 1994 a total of only 436 from 93-98 in this color and TT.

And from 93-98 only 7866 total Twin Turbo supras ever shipped to the US shores. NOW that is a rare car

Engineer, i never doubted what he said about the auto being quicker than the 6spd. I simply said that i dont like auto trans because i dont feel like im in controll. It makes me nervous not to have a clutch. As far as the video goes that looks like its been modded to all hell.

And your point is???? Who keeps the car to NOT mod it anyway?

The 6 spd I would perfer myself but the Auto is still a car you can cruise and destroy all. Still be fun. The 6spds also sell for about $5k higher than the Autos

i say do it... your evo is nice but a TT supras is nicer.... stick or not...and its also targa top right? (i think thats the name of it..) dont forget to post pics of it in line with the other 2 NESPEED cars.. 6 turbos 3 cars..that would be a nice lil slogan :-p lol

but then again it really comes down to the condition of the car
just sell ur evo for the highest price possible on autotrader and save around 5-7K and BAM
you will have a 6 speed TT Supra, a nice one to boot too
i dont know ur circumstances but thats an option

My EVO has never been run but with a good 60ft at the track I would run ROughly a 12.7ish at maybe 105MPH This supra ran a 12.8 at 120MPH with a 2.5 60foot which is terrible so the driver was horrid. a 120mph trap is good for low 12s high 11s if the launch permitts

I think you may be right, only a gay person would want one of those cars.
TheEngineer

id still much rather have a supra over those things. So one of them got over 700 hp on tt. But i am willing to bet that it was not on stock internals which the supra is capable of.
