Ignition problem!!

I have a 95 eclipse non turbo 2.0L, I have replaced the crankshaft position sensor, coil pack, changed the spark plug wires. I am going to change the camshaft position sensor tomorrow, but if that doesn't work, what would be the problem? The car turns over and everything but does not start. I took a spark plug wire off and checked for sparks but didn't get anything....So i need help on what other sensors there are that are tied to the Ignition System..(Crankshaft, Camshaft, and thats all the sensors that i know) So if anyone can relate or help with this problem it will be very helpful.. sounds like a cam position sensor to me. I dont know what else it could be if its turning over but getting no spark

Hey could it maybe be the fuel pump relay?

in that case though i would think you would get spark. IDK though. When your turning it over see if you can hear the fuel pump

ok thanks im going to replace the camshaft and the fuel pump relay and see if that works.. I'll let you guys know

Ok so i replaced the Cam shaft position sensor and still got nothing.. The fuel pump relay is good, so no need to replace that. I tested the fuel pump and its running. But the weird thing is that i am getting no gas. I took off the nozzle on the gas line thing and pushed the button and recieved no gas.. I think it might be the PCM..I have done everything you can possibly do. I used the Hanes mitsubishi eclipse guide book to do all the test involved with the ignition and electrical system.. Do you have any other idea what it could be? Still not getting any fire what so ever. I did spray starter fluid in it and it wanted to start at one point and then it stop.

I have the same problem, but the model is eclipse 92 GS, no gasoline, not hear the fuel pump and I don't know where the relay is; and no spark at all. Do you have some idea about the problem ?

hey whats up slight flyer..i have done every test that hanes has in the book that ties with the ignition and nothing works, so my guess is that its the ECU so i guess i need a ecu for it.. but i would invest in the hanes manuel for your car..its great and very helpful..good luck! if you find anything else let me know

Hello everyone. I know this is an older posting but I really need to knoe if the problem was ever resolved and if so HOW? I have a 97 GS that is doing the same thing and I'm running out of ideas. no I have ran out of them. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

It can also be the ASD relay and ECU.

my 1990 Eclipse GS 2.0 is doing the exact same thing.

I too checked for spark, fuel delivery, replaced my ignition coils, power transisitor, wires, plugs, air/fuel filters and all she'll do is crank and fireoff!
I too can use help!

For some reason there is a lot of this type of probem going around.. No Spark.. and spun #1 Rod bearing...I fixed the bearing and can't fix the spark the engine did strart and run great for 300 miles.. now it has no spark . I changed the Crank and  Camshat Sensor's The fuel pump runs fine I rechecked the Valve timing and it is spot on..I also checked the coils and they are in specs.. Thinking PCM found one in a salvage yard but it was for a 5 spd. instead of a Auto.. Did I say I checked the relays also.. they are working...all wire harness that were unplugged before were rechecked for bent pins or not connecting.. I am past my Wits End what could it be. With no Check engine light. and can't find a dealer with a Mois Dianotic machine from Snapon. I can see why for $7650.  any other Ideas would be appreciated .. Thanks.. I too am having the same problem.  I have a 91 Talon TSI AWD (auto trans) that I've been playing with for about 8 months now.  Replaced the cylinder head and timing belt, put it together and it will not start.  I checked the compression and all cylinders are about 150-160 psi.  As I doug deeper into my no start situation, I found that I was getting spark and had pleny of fuel pressure, but no injector pulse.  So, I replaced the ECU from a '94 Eclipse gsx turbo (manual trans) and now, no spark or injector pulse.  I just wanted to make sure that the ECU could affect the primary ignition circuit and cause a no spark situation.
 
Right now, it's too cold to mess with (Central Ohio), so if I find the soultion, it won't be till spring.  It's one of two project cars right now, so no rush.

Make sure the timing is good. And a couple other things to check is the cam position sensor and crankshaft position sensor. If either of those are no good the car wont start

I think I may have figured out my problem with the no start:  According to the ECU reference chart found on www.mitsubishiecu.com,  the ECU I won from ebay is for a 90-94 1.8L non turbo, and from what I've read, they are not compatible.  So, now I have to fight with the seller for a refund or excahnge.   

Hi, is does your car have an alarm with imobiliser? my mates GSR wouldnt fire up for six months as he tried replacing everything he could think off so i ripped his alarm out rewired the car back to factory and it started first time

No alarm.  I was getting spark, but no injector pulse with the old ECU.  No spark or injector pulse with the replacement ECU.  Just need to find a cheap ECU that works.

Did you ever figure out what was wrong with it?
