Actually my buddy randy is buying a 73 datsun 240z and we want to jump it over a creek with a distance of about 80 feet.
I have no idea how to calculate exactly how much speed, angle of the jump, and any other factors involved....Who can help me out?

80 feet? well consider wind resistance and elevation change from point of take off to landing....the jump IMO has to be 5ft or more then the cars length(80 feet with a datsun 240 i say it has to be 2x he cars length, and the jump has to be5-6 ft tall) and you have to go 80+ to clear it...i say 100 should be safe lol....or if you just want to destroy the car, build a short ramp(cars length) and go about 80 0r 90...chances are somthing is gonna f up and youll crash the car some hw because it could flip forward and you or your buddy may kill urself....not safe make a roll cage and the car light.

Don't do it.  You CAN NOT make this jump without SERIOUS injury to yourself and or others.  The car is front heavy and as soon as you clear the ground and are airborne, the front will start to droop.  It will continue to do this until A.) the front is pointed down.  or B.) The front hits the ground.  When the car comes down you will have a high probability of flipping and rolling.  If you're suicidal, feel free to try but I don't want to hear you weren't warned.

I will be removing this thread within the next few days since I want the warning to be available to be seen.

You're stupid for even wanting to do a stunt like that. Stop watching the Dukes of Hazzard movie! That stuff wasn't real! You will die if you try to jump the creek...you'll either crash and burn up in the wreckage or fall short and drown in the creek! Retard!

Only the beginning of the jump was real.  They don't show you what ACTUALLY happened to those cars when they landed

For the love of god dont do it.  If you do however decide to go through with it make sure to film it so we can show everyone what true failure looks like.

You could easily do it with a big enough ramp... as long as you dont plan on having a passenger.

My race quad is about 480lbs with me on it and for me to fly 40ft I had to be going about 30mph and that was 6ft tall jump launching me 15ft high.

The car will noes dive. I been in 2 trucks flying in the air and the one truck landed and broke part of the frame  and mest up the front left shock.

The other truck was in 4th gear over a 4ft tall table top jump and it noes dived bad and when it landed the frame bent into a V all the way down to the ground and flipped us over side ways.

If you build a jump with out a steep lip you will just drive over it fast and noes dive instantly. You need a steep lip. But the jump will need to be made long and gain angle slowly or the car will bottom out and take half the jump with it making you crash if its not long enough.

You can weigh the cars rear down by loading up the trunk but then the jump will have to be hit at a higher speed. Thats what the stunt guys do and Dukes of Hazzard. They weigh the rear end down. And for Dukes of Hazzard every time the car hit a jump it totaled on landing. They needed a new car for every jump. And rwd cars jump 10x better than fwd. Rwd you will noes dive less and can floor it in the air and the rotation of the tires will make the rear end drop slowly stopping you from noesing in bad.

I would set the car up like meth busters and controle it by remote control and jump it. Put a dummy in it and say its you and send the tape into CMT redneck videos or somthin like that its called and im sure they would take it and they pay for every video they use.

I touched a real Dukes of Hazzard car last summer
