ECLIPSES ARE BETTER LOL!

To each his own:o) Last time I checked, eclipses do not come with all wheel steering, they only have a single turbo, and do not have an active aero setup. They might be better 1/4 mile cars, but there is more to life then a 1/4 mile. (Don't worry, I am not getting up-tight about your statement, I just wanted to put you in your place.)

sorry and about the active aero setup. you have to be able to go fast for it to work right. also it breaks a lot.

ill give u this. i like the instrument panel. but as for the system ill ahve to say its not imprssive. first of all u are running low power for the volume of space that the box is "less air movment" second of all u went with apline type-S. not impressed by the selection. im not tring to be an A$$ but that isnt worth the time and effort it took to buy and build.

Stirring the pot huh. Well I would rather drive a car that looks good but is slow, than one that is fast and ugly.

Well this is healthy...

get435, stay next to us eclipse owners before the 3si dudes beat you down with a jdm strut bar or something Remember, there's a 3.8liter twin Super20G powered AWD 3000GT somewhere laughing at all the little eclipses!

All in fun boss, all in fun. Right get435

I find it strange that I have never heard of this 3.8L 3S before. Do you have any more info on it??????

Yep, It uses the 6g75 engine that comes in the montero and galant's. It still has the stock SOHC heads(bore is 90mm and they said the DOHC 6g72 wouldn't fit, but aren't the 6g72's 90.1mm? or am i wrong?), and custom manifolds. Twin turbochargers, Super20G's, apparantly even with a rather square design, the builders said the power curve emulates the 6g72, with respects to being bumped higher. They stuck with 20G's because they'd provide good enough power in the midrange to be effective. I remember the horsepower numbers weren't that impressive, and the torque numbers were equally unimpressive. Other than those things all i can remember seeing was custom pistons, rods, stock cams, it had an emanage too!(i came upon this article while actually trying to find info on mitsu vehicles using an emanage). I didn't save any reference to it, I figured by now it should atleast be common news to someone. I know the shop wasn't Altered Atmosphere, i can't remember who they were. I know i'd never heard of them before though and figured the car was just a custom show car. I'll try and find the site, and post a link up. The car is a blacked out 3000gt, i'm thinking 94 - 96, and is pretty much stock looking except for the wheels. I dunno, i'll look for it again, i think i can remember where i found it. Anyways, hope this sparks your interest.

A fellow in NY was working on a project similar to that. I know he was using a Montero block and had bumped it up to 4.1L (stock would be 3.8L??)

Pampena Motorsports I believe is his shop name, but I don't know for sure.

I guess that makes sense, perhaps playing with different cranks. I have a correction, The bore and stroke on the 6g75 is 95.0x90.0mm. Not exactly sure how to get 4.1liters using factory parts, but i guess anythings possible.
thestealth

bore and stroke on a 6g72 is 91.1 X 76

I am not sure, but I don't think 6g72 heads would fit on a 6g74-5 block??

I am no expert though, so who knows.

I do know that the SOHC block will not accept the DOHC heads due to the water jackets not lining up, but the bolt pattern is the same.

Here is some stuff I dug up on 3si about projects Pampena Motorsports has been fooling with. Links to 3si as follows.

4.1stroker
3.0L to 3.5L stroker kit

The 3.0L stroker kits might help out the current generation of Eclipse engines also. (they are 6g72 also, aren't they) It is a work in progress, so we shall see how it pans out.

Yeah, well my 92 LeBaron owns all you fools!
I have the all mighty 3.0 Mitsubishi V6 that powers the 3KGT and Stealth under my hood.
MUAHAHAHAHA!!!! So what if it's the single Cam version and is downtuned to 140hp, my torque makes people spill their drinks when they ride with the boogie. Besides, I have high performance NOS stickers on my windows that add 50hp each and my high performance Sponge Bob air freshener. So HA!!!

Not fair, you have the coveted high speed Sponge Bob air freshener.

How are we supposed to compete with that.

Actually, the Sponge Bob air freshener I have for my 92 LeBaron is supposed to fit early 90's stealth's and 3KGT's, or any other car with the Mitsu 3.0 V6. It helped me run 9 seconds in the quarter. Just make sure you get the real SpongeBob air Freshener and not a cheap imitation from e-bay, you could blow your intake manifold.
