excellent news! I just got off the phone with PennDOT and they are on board for the most part. They directed me to a couple Federal agencies regulating safety, emissions and customs and importing. Those are my big hurtles now. Supposedly, they shouldn't be too much trouble either....it just takes time and effort.
Right now, my only concerns are emission standards and customs/importing fees. Emissions can be dealt with. The customs fees though scare me, We'll just have to see what they are.
I can also bring these in as kit cars. By definition, a kit car is any assembly. That means if they just take the rear view mirrors off and I have to put them back on I can call it a kitcar...but it will say that on the title. So, I want to go the full boat and get Fed approval to get regular titles.
I'm guessing that all of you would turn your noses up at RHD as well so I would want to convert these to LHD. Sound about right?

where in Mexico, Baja, mainland, east/west coast?
I could definitely use a Japanese liason if this gins up. Being in Mexico isn't a problem. This job is probably going to require a lot of frequent flyer miles anyway.
the big question is, are you 18?

why on earth would you convert it to LHD!? I know SOOOOoooo many people that would
LOVE to buy a LHD car!! That's so hot in the car show scene too every single one I've seen at shows this year gets
LOADS of attention! I'm sure your buisness would do better if you just left them on that side.

The only problem I see is cars like that can't have regular insurance. I had a friend that had a skyline and it was something like because it's "not a car in their cars listed to insure" they couldn't do it.. and since you HAVE to have insurance there's some special insurance you have to get that's like 1,000.00 a month. which is retarded but oh well. Good luck man I want a japanese car!! That mirage hatch is SOO cute! :)

Dollars lol. I already did the conversion. I used multiple, like autotrader and public advertising sites (craigslist equivilant).
What are you planning to use for your sources and at what kinda prices?

I'm looking at what I can buy them for. as an example, I can't even get an evo 2 here for under 5k. If this is what I am looking at, there is no need to go further. I certainly can't be doing this for charity. I doubt I could sell an evo 2 for under 9.

AlZ, good news. I just saw a EVO II for sale for like 14k...
