its pretty straight foward once you get started. If your car has a heat shield, take that off. Then undo the bolts on the head, and then undo the bolts on the bottom at the downpipe.

can i do that while my car is sitting in my drive way or do i have to lift it and get under it to get the downpipe? i just dont want to **** anything up to seriously, but i dont wanna overpay someone to do it.

I tried to put on my own headers, and I got all of the bolts off of it except for one.  There was a bolt that I couldn't get to because of the power steering belt.  I took it to a shop and once that bolt was off it was relatively easy.  The main problem was just that the bolts were rusted on, but after some liquid wrench it was good.  Ya you're going to have to get under the car to get to the bolts.

I had to go under my car to remove 4 bolts and the header was a lil bit of a pain in the azz cuz it took longer than i supected and some bolts where hard to get at.

I think you do have to get under the car to remove the bolts on the downpipe.  Thats how I got my headers of my Lancer.

how do you disconnect the downpipe then

Exhaust bolts always suck cuz they rust more then anything. So make sure to have some PB blaster on hand. With the right tools you should be able to do it. By tools i mean have all the right socket wrench tools and extensions because some of the bolts on the manifold are always pretty hidden in there

My exhaust bolts where almost 13 years old and where rusted so bad that I had no choice but to cut the whole thing off in a few pieces.
