Is your bumper missing this piece ?

my bumper is missing this piece on the left side but i do have one on the right? anyone else have this if so can the dealer fix it or is it not that big of a deal and just leave it alone?

It's a functional airscoop for the oil cooler. There is nothing to fix, it's there by design.

thanks for the info i was not sure if it had a cap there that might have fell off

Thats right, its a "snorkel" to feed cool air in. I dont know if its to the oil cooler, but that sounds about right.
 
My last car had a fender snorkel that would pull air from the wheel well and into the air box. As a side note, a friend of mine has the newer Pontiac G6, and it actually has a fender snorkel as well, but pulled the air from somewhere like the duct that is pictured above on the outtie. Anyway, after a heavy rainfall last fall he had to go through some standing water in a street and water was actually sucked up and ruined the engine. Insurance got him a brand new engine (old had like 20k miles). The insurance company told him it was a design flaw, but that Pontiac was not going to do a recall on them.

I was wondering why didn't they use some plastic mesh, like the one on the lower grill, on both sides, to make it look neat and symmetrical? I guess it would've been few more bucks to the cost of the car.

Hi, i have the 08 too, 1 week after i bought it, i see that hole too,
i bring it to the dealer he was suprise to, then we realise that all the V6 version have those, not the V4.
