Hi,
Enyone know how much for a fob for an 07 Outlander? XLS, only got one when I bought it, any places but the dealer to get one?
Anyone have a car starter for their XLS?

You could check Ebay for anyone selling theirs. I would think that somebody with the '07 fobs decided to upgrade to the '08 ones and may have one for sale. I would assume though that the dealer would have to "flash" it to work for your car.
I think my dealer said it was like $100 for a new one, but it may even be more.

First of all, there are none that I could find on eBay. Second, my dealer told me about $150, but considering its all electronic, thats not too bad. Third, does anyone have a pic of the FASTKEY fob for the 2008? If it is a good deal smaller, I may want one, as I wanted a third key anyway. Is it the same one as the new Lancers? Thanks

I don't get it...you only got one? Bought the car at a dealer? Last time I heard someone only got one key (bought the car from a private person), the car actually turned out to be stolen.
$150 seems normal for a FASTKEY fob.

YEAH GOT ONE fob with and emergency key (not like the one posted with the link) must have an older version.
Bought the car from a dealer in Canada. The car was bought at an auction in the US. Saved over 12k over a new one here plus it came with the NAVI and the 7 seats, Would have saved maybe 2k if I bought it myself at an auction in the US plus all the hassels that come with bringing the car over and actually looking for a car. A new XLS with NAVI costs about 42k here off the lot.

yeah, going to find out this weekend. Going to take it for an oil change and some shopping :) Figured that what I save on the oil change $10 and on gas $10 I have a free trip over the border.
They gave me a 1 year powertrain warranty at the dealer (unlimited km) and said that I can service it in the US.
This is unless I can get my hands on a set of NY plates and just take it in here for service.
Yeah it was a pretty good deal, considering I bought it a Mitsubishi Dealership (go figure). $26 000 + taxes with 3000miles on it.

nontoxicart,
Since you bought it at a Mitsubishi dealer i would think you would be eligible to buy and extended Mitsubishi warranty if you wanted one. It shouldn't matter where they got it from.
Did you just buy it recently. I think you have until 12000 miles to buy the extended warranty (at least here in the states you do).
You saved $12000 Canadian...wow. Isn't that like $80.00 US

Sorry bro couldn't resist busting your chops.

Somebody has not been paying attention to the currency exchange lately! CND$ and US$ are pretty much at parity these days, and for a few week, you had to fork out more than 1 US Peso to get a 1 CDN$.

Oh crap! I better stop throwing those coins away then shouldn't i.
Hey here's a question...do you guys in Canada have any trouble with US quarters in vending machines?

I can't say that I have ever had a problem with that, mind you up until recently it was in there interest to accept them.

Cuffy,
Yeah, it was like $80 two years ago :) And those damn automakers are still charging us as if the dollar was worth 2/3's of US.
Back to my original post.
None of the dealerships here in Canada have any answers for me. They have no clue about the Navi, nothing on my bluetooth, and no price to get a new key. That is why I'm going down to the states this weekend to get my answers, and do some shopping at the same time, love the dollar exchange now (comes in hand for something).
In regards to the warranty. I'll find out this weekend i guess.
Originally don't they come with 60 000 mile bumper to bumper???
oh, and if you don't mind asking, how much did you dish out for your Outie??? probably like $45G here with taxes. (33 000 xls, 1600 leather, 1800 navi, 1200 for sound and roof 13% tax)

If you need the key fob and emergency key FROM A DEALER IT WOULD COST YOU $254.61 PLUS PROGRAMMING. The emergency key for the 07 is also an immobilizer type. The 08 version is smaller and the emergency key is not an immobilizer and would cost $191.99 PLUS PROGRAMMING. I CAN SAVE YOU ABOUT 30% on OE just visit
www.cherryhilltriplexparts.com of course you still will need to have them programmed.
Good Luck.

All-
Be careful with the new fobs - actually...I accidentally washed mine in my jeans the other day - I thought I was f***ed. I pulled it out, shut my eyes and reached for the door...
IT STILL WORKS - I couldn't believe it. These little things take a beating....yeah, Mitsu..

I was just messing about the dollar exchange. I used to travel to Toronto a few years back when the US dollar was worth about 35% more than the Canandian dollar.
I paid $26200 after taxes/tags here in the states for my loaded XLS 4WD Nav/Sun-Sound/Luxury. Got $2500 in rebates.

CUFFY, nice price.
So this weekend I visited a Dealership in the Buffalo area.
I was told that I still have full warranty on it in US and Canada. 60 000 miles. so that was good news. Bad news is that they didn't unlock my Bluetooth password problem. Told me $250 for the key, as MitsuJeff mentioned earlier, and $75 to program.

If you're the only driver, you might want to just get an extra emergency key, it would be alot cheaper.

$250 + programming seems awfully expensive for a replacement key. I happend to lose one of the fobs and not sure if I want to spend that kind of money on a replacement.

did they change the fob key design for the 08? If they did, will they sell the new fob? I have the current black square fob and don't like it..
I currently have the 07'.
