So I took a trip to WV this weekend. I had a follower on the way home to Virginia Beach. I snapped a few pics of the follower. Here they are:

So while I was getting gas on the way home I happened to catch a decent pic of another car I found rather interesting and absolutely GORGEOUS. I could be wrong but I believe it is a Bel Aire Nomad. Here's the pic I managed to snap:

Now for those that HAEVN'T followed my thread a few weeks back or who just don't know, I managed to score an '88 Fiji blue quest and finally was able to get it home. Getting it on and off the trailer with the drivers side on flats and a good chunk of the engine bay being in the trunk wasn't exactly easy (It actuall fell OFF the ramps of the trailer when we were pushing it off but there was on stopping it once it started rolling. Thankfully the air dam was already gone so no damage there except maybe a very little bit on the intercooler). Here are the pics from before the trip down here after we managed to get it up on the trailer in WV:

BTW she is BONE stock EVERYTHING is still there except a few small pieces here and there.

Bodywise it's missing the air dam and has a small dent on the passenger's fender (Spare already waiting on me in OH). Inside is in REALLY good shape surprisingly. And the engine has seen better days. I'm going to fix that though.

And yes it is Fiji blue definately a BEAUTIFUL color (Though atlantic blue is gorgeous too).

Hmmm. It looks ok from the exterior...

It kind of reminds me of the older group B audi quattro rally cars.... or the side panels of the skyline R34. I dig it.

How long do you think its going to take you to put it all back together?

Yeah that's EXACTLY why I got the 2nd one.  That way I can still drive a 'quest while I rebuild Red's motor.  Yes it's going to be fast and NO you can't drive it when you get here Tidus.

Never looked at the Audi Quattro rally cars.  I don't think it looks anything like one.  Wait till I get some better pics of everything.  Usually these get mistaken for the Supra, Daytona, and occasionally the RX-7.

Emonz:  Look at the OLD Supra's early 80's models they do look quite similar.  Same with the RX-7.  The Daytona is a MUCH closer match I agree but it's still rounder than the 'quest.

Sebba:  The Audi does bear a small resemblance but that fender isn't nearly as wide as the 'quest.  The biggest thing though is the rear windows.  That's always the way I tell any of the cars apart.  The 300 ZX is the only other car that has the 2 rear side windows almost look like they are 1 piece with the rear windshield or look attached to it by that black strip.  The Daytona has rounded rear 1/4 windows and a rounder front end.

Tidus:  Good LOL cuz I don't let very many people at all drive my cars lol.  BTW where in VA are you going to look for a college?  If you're not coming out to the coast you likely won't run into me.

i plan on going to VA beach just because its a kick ass place to be, and the college is Virginia State Commonwealth or something like that..iunno.. its mid state..but a college visit takes a day or 2..the beach takes atleast 3-5.. :-P

OK question folks...daytona/starquests do look similar i concur....ok but doesnt a daytona have a mitsusishi made turbo 4 cylinder? closer then you would think i suppose...do they use the same chassis as the starquest?

Tidus:
Let me know when you're going to be out there I live RIGHT on the oceanfront.  I'm 8 blocks from the water.

Sebba:
I've already started tearing it down further and will likely have it back together in a month or so.  I have most of the needed parts already ordered/won (Ebay).  It's all clenaing and replacing parts now.

David:
No the Daytona used the Chrysler 2.2L engine where the Starions and Conquests used the 2.6L turbo engine.  There were also a the Shelby Charger? which used the Daytona body but had a specially designed and built engine.  The chassis are also different.  I believe that the Daytona was a FWD but StarQuests are rear wheel independant suspension vehicles.  Also there were a few experimental SQs that had 4 wheel steering.  Rather odd concept but I have seen one with it.
