I have a '91 Eclipse GS with a manual transmission.  I am trying to drop the tranny and change the clutch, but having a lot of trouble getting the tranny out.  I currently have the tranny away from the engine, but that is all the farther I can get.  I try to turn the tranny a bit, but the top of the tranny is hitting the aluminum piping for the radiator fluid.  Anyone with some ideas or suggestions that maybe I am not seeing?  need to get this done ASAP.  Please help.

you gotta take off a brace plate that goes from the body to the subframe to give a little more room and take the 2  motor mount bolts out, i had to just about flip mine upsidedown  and jack the motor up to get it out.

What about the aluminum piping for the radiator fluid that is in the way?  So, what you are saying is that I have to take of the two middle motor mounts out and hold the motor up with a jack under the oil pan??  What is the problem that is not allowing me to pull it straight off??

ive never had a pipe in my way removing a trans on a DSM other than intercooler stuff.
you might have to take it off if its not letting it clear.
, but yea the 2 middle mounts, the single bolt that goes through the rubber mount on the subframe, then lift the engine up some, it helps get you more room to work the trans out. theyre a really tight squeeze. the back of the trans almost needs to face straight up before they come out.
