ok so my car has been making a whistling noise once i get over 4rpms...and i've been told that i shouldn't be doing 4rpms since it screws up your vehicle...anyways, i took her to a mechanic and he said everything was fine, and then i took her to a place where i was going to get my windows tinted and they said it might be the belts...but my belts were fine, and it's not my radio wires either. So the guy at careffex told me that i should just turn up my radio and tune it out, but i don't like the fact that my car goes around squeling...soooo if you got any ideas of what it might be just let me know...

If you're doing over 4000 RPM then you're moving pretty good and you probably got some wind noise goin' on there LOL...The only thing your Eclipse is missing is wings cuz that baby looks like it could fly..And if you're a chick it makes that much better..Holla back

well i just bought my eclipse like 2 weeks ago, and before that i needed a cheap car one that i could pay for...so we looked at cavaliers

so are ya obsessed with me or do you mean with the Eclipse in general? LOL...J/K...But if you need help in knowing what to do with your Eclipse then give me a holla, maybe I could help. They're the funnest car to mod ever and you'll notice a huge difference when you do. This is my second one now and I absolutely love it.

What model is your eclipse? rs,gs,gs-t, or gsx? my gs made a noise around 4K RPM's when stock(now its turbo) and it was the transmission. My gsx also made a noise but its the turbo. the noise in the non turbo motors around 4K RPM's is present in almost all of them, especially when doing a medium rpm downshift.

she's an RS and not turbo...someone mentioned that it could be the turbo though...i mean it's not that i'm afraid something could blow up it's just really annoying.

It's not turbo, i was asking a friend of mine and he said that it was the turbo, but as i just said, i don't have turbo, so that was out of the question.

I talked to my mechanic and your issue is simple. If you have an aftermerket intake you may have puller out the honeycomb disc that was in the original intake. That is designed to spin the air as it goes into the motor, if that is taken out then you will get a loud whistle. It is nothing to worry about if that is the case. Also check for foriegn objects on your filter.
