Montero Alarm Issues - intermittent door lock / unlock

I have 98 Montero Full size and a few times a day, the doors will intermittently lock and unlock for no particular reason (chirp, chirp chirp!!!).  Once in a while, the alarm will also go off, even when sitting quietly in my garage.

I've removed the batteries from the keyless entry fub, thinking there may be a short in the fub - but it still has the problem.

Any help or recommendation would be appreciated on how to fix this problem, or simply disable the whole alarm system!

3 chirps, there must be a short in your wiring/ relay for the alarm,

or what happened with my monty, is that other peoples keyless entrys set off my alarm....wish i could tell ya more but i got rid of my 98 monty a long time ago,(rip)
