Ive been reading alot about the "mitsubishi variable induction system" in the gts's but nothing online specifies what that means. all ive gotten is that the plenum on the gts models has straight tubes for better airflow. whats "variable" about it?

ok but by variable i would think it was suggesting that it had different adjustable settings, is that right?

they way they are set.. the 2000 to 2002 haver the butterfly and in the 2003 to 2005 they have the str8 pipin making it more air flow for the car just by a little.

i dont think ur getting my ?. i already know the differences in the intake plenums, but is that the only difference? and what is variable about a different plenum?

GTS has a Butterfly valves
Their are two seperate length runners in the planum that the valves direct the air thru. Longer runners increase torque at low rpm's, shorter runners for better top-end.
