HI all, I have a 93, the timing belt broke and there might be damages to the engine. I want to know if anyone knows how much this would cost to repair and if anyone has had the same situation. Should I repair or give up on the car???

All depends what is damaged. Removing the head will tell you. If just the head is damaged, thats okay. If the pistons are badly damaged.. then forget about it

Tell them to F UCK themselves. You can do it yourself... its not hard

Ok, I was told that the valves are bent... is this serious? they are giving me a ball park figure of over 3,000 to fix it. what do you suggest?

Thats waaay over the top
Well if the valves are bent that means they hit pistsons... i guess they werent damaged that bad... because if they were at all im sure they would be telling you that you needed to replace the motor.
My advice to you is to look on eBay or something and find two 6G72 (make sure its the same non turbo/turbo etc) heads. They really arent that expensive. Or if the head isnt actually damaged.. and just the valves.. you can find a head rebuild kit for it and just repalce the valves... most likely the head needs to be replaced. Then you will need 2 head gaskets and 2 sets of head studs... and obviously a new timing belt.
All together in parts should be a little over 1k (depending on how well you search for parts). To be entirely honest... it might be worth you having a shot at this yourself. Will save you cash and you will learn something. If you chose to do that.. invest in a Haynes or Chiltons manual.
Or, you could just pay the 3 grand and let them do it.

buy a brand new engine for a 1/3 of the price that theyre telling you will cost to fix it and put it in. it'll save you money and you'll most likely have less miles. the non turbo 6g72's are pretty cheap.
