Its fine, that gauge doesnt mean ****.

Please tell me you didnt remove that little pipe thats there and just block off the intake hole. If you did, slap yourself and get a recirculation kit.

no everyone else does NOT do that.  Only the ones who dont care much about weather or not the car runs right or the ones with stand alone EMS setups.   Just and FYI the HKS ssqv is terribe on mitsus with stock MAFs.   They suck.  I got one on my Evo it causes more headaches than I need or want.  even with a recirc kit they still suck on these cars.  not being a prick but to b totally truthful it may be in your best interest to sell for something along the lines of a Forge RS or something.  That is what I was planning on doing and countless members and friends have done the past all from teh same problems with the HKS valve.   Its a great BOV for High boost highHP cars  that is why ALL supras use them but for our cars they are not friendly untill you pend some $$$$$ to set the car up

I dont get it car runs the same. blow off sounds amazing.. wat could be so bad. most people have hks on eclipse not evos. thats probly why ur having so much problums. and am going to buy the injen intake like i said so it should be a big deal like you guys are making it to be or look

So Wats so wrong wit covering the intake? Why would injen make a specific intake that needs a after market bov for the eclipse? if its bad for it?

listen dude, i have a 95 eclipse also, but these guys know there ****, certain bov's arnt that good for certain setups, and the ssqv liek they said, is made for really high boost set ups, like the supras

Search venting....

i'll just explain it to him... the maf on our mitsu's are before the bov, the maf is what reads the amount of air coming in through the intake, the ecu reads this and will compensate with enough fuel to mix correctly with the air... if you vent ur bov into the atmosphere, it is taking that air that the ecu is counting on and sends it out into the atmosphere, this will obviously screw with ur afr and make your motor run like crap... but to really answer your question the intake you're getting is correct, but you just need to make sure you recirc ur bov into it

by venting the bov into the atmosphere its not going to your intake and then to the maf, your car will then think its getting air that it isnt which is going to cause your car to not run good in the long run, you will also waste way more gas, the noise might sound cool but it hurts the car so bad other cars can vent it because the maf is in a different place so it doesnt matter 2g's have to have it recirculated like i said you can do it but i wouldnt reccomend it i had mine vented for 2 days just to enjoy the noise then thats it if your looking for a nice sound the greddy type s sounds very nice even when it is recirculated thats what i currently have

this brings up another question i was thinkin about... dont mind me if this is a stupit, but is there anyway you could put the stock maf on the uicp? after the bov?  or does that have to be a gm maf and maft?

thats actually a good question i wonder if thats possible

im pretty sure that's what you'd do with a gm maf, but i also hear its a bitch to tune :-/... i guess its about how bad you want that "bov sound"

Yea well i love my bov it sounds great so if i get the intake evrything should be fine? cuz am getting the 16g turbo soon and ill be able to push more boost since you guys say its for high boost or wat not.
But i still got my stock bov if the car starts to mess up or not running good ill take it off and sell it

even with the intake pipe its still gonna not run well i suggest you get the recirculation kit or sell it and get either a greddy type s or rs or even a 1g bov will work nice

Just get the recirc kit. Its pretty cheap. All it is, is a peice that connects to the end of the BOV and then a rubber hose to the intake. Thats it.

Dude you are becoming more and more frustrating. All you need to do is hook up that ****ing pipe back to the intake.

Is no one hearng me here??  The car will act the same with a recirc kit running the HKS valve with a MAF.    My car does it and lets bring up our old buddy 97talonAWD or what ever his name was he had the same problem on his 2G.

I AM TELLING YOU ALL NOW.  the hks valve will still cause the car to sputter and go rich on shifts and stall out even with the recirc kit TRUST ME I know.   If this kid cant tell the difference then he obviously doesnt have a clue as to what exactly is happening with the AFR.   On top of it if you want performance dont vent cause it slows you down.  when I was at the track venting I noticed my AFRs the car is tuned to an 11.1 which is good well I would have 11.1 in first then shift it would go 10.5 and never rebound back up then shift again I was at 10.0 the rest of the way threw the track.   the BOV prob kill a tenth or two because the AFRs makes a HUGE difference in the cars performance

Again this comment is FALSE.   No one runs the BOV unless like i said they have no clue.  They run it because of stupidity not because it works good.   Trust me like I said its a great valve just not of these cars.  There are tons of DSM owners who used to use the HKS valve but they ususally switch it out fairly quick now after 10 years of dealing with DSMs the Evo owners know better and usually dont try to run an HKS unless they get it for free or really really cheap (like me $50  for a $200 BOV).

By the way on a Mitsu you should never upgrade a BOV just for the sound because that is a very very stupid reason.

dude put a recirculation kit on there i had the option of running it either way with my greddy kit and i went with the recurculation kit beacuse it made it easier i think to spool up after it vent out. just think about what alot of us are saying most of us have figured it out by what people have done and what problems we heave had
by the way i drive a 98 gst spyder
