When you think of it, the HKS opens inwards right? I think thats why it doesnt work really well with these cars. Now i understand you Mike.
Celcius, where did you buy this BOV? What i suggest is actually selling it and buying a greddy type RS + a recirculation kit.
Or do you just not care how the car runs as long as it sounds cool?

he said he loves the way the car sounds..... so im guessing hes all about the noise like sebba said the rs and the recirc kit works great 2 of my friends use that while me and another friend use the type s. both work well but the type s gives a whistle even when recirculated and since your all about the sounds you might wanna check that out but for sure the hks has to go my friends that have the type rs BOTH had the hks and then sold it it just sucks on these cars

Well you might think it works great... but do you have a wideband to actually verify that it works great?

ok on my gst i bought it from some one like you who likes the sound but in the long run its not worth it. if you are venting to atmosphere (vta) your car will run rich and in turn slow down. mine once i hit about 13 psi bam it runs leaner than anything and you just dont get the satisfaction as if it were recirculated. if you have a tuning device you can compensate for the running rich but it can damage your sensors by having to much fuel burning. we are just trying to help and make sure we dont have a ricer eclipse lol. good luck on whatever you decide to do. if i could i would replace my loud bov (blow off valve) for a recirucluating one in a heart beat.

Open up the hood when the car is running. You will be able to smell gas, that means the car is running rich(not good for performance) Buy a recirculation kit if you must keep the HKS or just get a greddy. I have a turbo xs h34 recirculated, works just fine except the 2g adaptor leaks a little. greddy type s is good to.

Yea at first when i installed it i can hear it leaking but then i used some engine glue and sealed around the bov now am pretty shure nutting it is leaking from wat i can hear.

The recirculation kit, as Mike pointed out, isnt going to solve the problem. The BOV just doesnt suit the car

Exactly that. I entirely forgot that they open inwards.

sell it, go to a junk yard and get a 1st gen bov and go to a hardware store for the rubber piping and some couplers or w/e you want to tighten the hose down, it sounds awesome trust me tahts wat i did for mine, oh you should prolly buy this if you wanna use it to unless you can cut and weld the needed part off the first gen to the second gen
http://www.slowboyracing.com/estore/product.php?productid=6008&cat=5354&page=1 it sounds bamf trust me even recirculated you can hear it well and they are decent bovs, just find a stock 1g drivin around town to sell ur hks to him and take his lol

yea man just get rid of it lol... you should be able to get enough money out of it to get a different one, anyone of the ones these guys have been tellin ya... you'll be happy in the long run, like everyone's been sayin the hks just doesnt work well with our cars :-/

I love the HKS valve it is just not a good part for these cars unless you run high boost like over 25PSI and run speed dencity which they dont come with stock and is very costly so it causes problems with your ECU and AFR's and robs you HP, spool time, and drive ability.
The one I would recommend over the greddy stuff is Forge BOVs they are great for high or low HP\boost levels. I personally like the Forge RS

Bov will leak at 12, replace that and you can crank it up to 16-17, change the fuel pump and run 18-19, get an EVO III 16g, 660cc injectors and SAFC II and you can run 23ish. Stock internals can handle a MAX of 25 and a max of 400whp

keep in mind these are ball park figures and some things require some other supporting mods to run Boost levels 18 and up

so your saying mine can run 16-18 wit my eclipse? am getting the 16g soon after that i will crank up more? in the 23ish?
Sebba

Things that are needed to run 16-18 are:
Intake
Exhaust
MBC
Boost Gauge
190lph fuel pump
BOV
To run more:
660cc Injectors (recomended Denso)
ACT 2600 clutch w/ a street disc
Apexi SAFC II
Wideband o2 gauge
EVO III 16g turbo
Decent FMIC (Not eBay)
Am i missing anything?
It is also recomended that before you start modding heavily that you make sure you have no fluid leaks of any kind, your compression numbers are good, you change your plugs and wires, and your timing belt has been changed within the last 60k miles.
