Hey to all. I just became a Mitstubishi owner for the first. I purchased a 06 outlander se with awd last month, and I love it. The only terrible thing about this vehicle is the GPA. It sucks on gas mileage. But I love the idea that it came with rims, and nice tires, and a fairly nice cd changer sound system. Let me know what you guys think of it. And, I hope it was worth the money.

Im trying to find parts for it to make it stand out, but I am new to outlanders, especially Mitsu's. Are the 2005 models the same as the 2006's?

The real changes occurred from 03 to 04 with the MIVEC engine coming for 04. For 05 the projector headlights replaced the halogens and some newly sculpted body lines and taillights. There is some interior trim that changed as well. The 05 also added a stick shift to the base(LS) model lineup, which I think should be an option throughout the lineup, but that's just me. XLS model was also dropped, it is now LS, SE, and Limited. Climate control is also a new option on 06. ABS and front side airbags are now standard on 06. There were a lot of changes between the standard and optional equipment. Seems strange since they will supposedly be revamping the Outlander for 07 in pretty dramatic fashion. Those are the only changes worth mentioning as far as I can tell. In any case, the 06 has more creature comfortsd available and more standard equipment. You should be able to use most parts from 04 and up outlanders, minus the forementioned differences. The drivetrain, unfortunately, remained the same.
BTW, nice ride. Search through the forum and you'll find some mods you can use, some of the Lancer Ralliart mods will work also.

That's right...Lancer Ralliart has some nice shizz baby!!

I hear that!! Also accelerates to 60 a full 3 seconds faster than your Outlander too, that means 4 seconds for mine. If only it were a little larger or the Sportback came with a manual transmission. The dealer I take my car to has an 04 RA I checked out, it was tempting. No AWD and much less weight works well for the engine, I was jealous... and that's no mods too.

The Sportback doesn't come with a manual transmission? Wow...I thought it did for some reason.

What a dumb idea, huh? I really liked them until it was an auto only, not even a sprot-tronic transmission either.... just a POS auto. What does Mitsubishi have against manual transmissions? You would think they would be available on every car in every option group.

BTW, congrats on post #600...that's a lot of time and typing!

Thanks Dirt! Also....Mitsu is like the only car company that really sticks you with their options. No HID...No NAVI.....plus 100 more little things. I think they should go the Nissan way and start adding some nice features or just fold the compnay and make the paper overseas with the fruit and weird shizz they sell. GO TEAM!

They should give you an "a la cart" menu to pick and choose the options you want, but no, gotta try and screw you with an all or nothing policy on the few options that are available. When you go to a GM and most any other dealer you can get the base POS, but you can get options from other trim levels added to your cheapo car. Mitsu is trying to make cookie cutter cars to salvage their company and I REFUSE TO COMPLY anymore dammit. That was fun, now I'll be quiet.

Hahahahahahaha...I really hope some Mitsu peeps read these forums. I kinda like how Scion does it. Maybe Mitsu can learn something?

Mitsu can learn something but they won't. They just keep on coming with the three trim levels..... 1)crap 2)average and 3)costs too much. Perhaps that would aide in their recovery, but we are dumb Americans, what could we possibly know. We have such a horrible reputation for being ignorant, I don't think they look at the forums.

very very true.....it's really sad. You see the cars in Europe and you want to die! They have a Turbo Model just for the hell of it.

True, I wish the Airtrek would be imported, that would make my life a lot easier. And faster!

I'd settle even for the Outlander Turbo...looks pretty nice with the hood too. I'd love a factory backed turbo on my POS

let us know what you need, we can help. Just want exterior stuff? Performance parts? I think the new Outlanders already stand out, I would go performance. Check roadraceperformance.com
I am going to try to visit the shop as it's only about 15 mins from my house :)
