is there a difference beetween the 4g63 and the 4g63t transmission? also; what makes the 4g63t better than the 4g63?
                                     Thanx, NEWBIE

No i dont believe so. As long as its the same generation tranny it should be fine.

4G63T = turbo
4G63 = non turbo

is there any difference in boost strength or compression?

In the terms of boost strength what are you comparing it too? Only one of them is turbo. It pushes about 12psi stock.

Yes there is a difference in compression ratio. The non turbo has a higher compression ratio and the turbo engine has a lower compression ratio.

thanx thats what i was wondering. i might need to swap motors. i have a GS with turbo and i am contemplating on swapping stock or going for the upgrade. is all of the electronics the same on each motor?

Around the forums theres a lot of info about it, which ones are better, there are even some kind of "walkthroughs" named how to build a track monster, theyre like faqs. just look around for them in the respective generation clipse and youll be directed in the right way

(Edit: my bad... look here http://www.mitsubishiforum.com/forumid_227/tt.htm )

Personally i say sell it and get a GSX. It will be cheaper and you will fall in love with AWD after that.

If you really want to keep your turbo GS/RS then you can build up the motor internals.. and that is a costly process.

thanx for all of your knowledge and patience. got mine cheap and i can afford to fix it, but cant afford GSX. trust me ive got major wood for the GSX but theyre expensive roun these parts. tryin to get the one i have fixed until then.

i usually just tell ppl that the swap costs more than buying a gsx....   if they still wanna do it,   let em.   dump ppl amuse me.

Pointless monetary expenditure. Why rig something that could get better for cheaper.

Im making an effort.

I see things around here that i dont like.. and i cant do anything about it because im not a mod. The only way thats going to happen is if i change my ways a little... that way i can actually do good rather than adding to the problem.
