Hey- I currently own a 91 Toyota Celica and am considering selling it to buy a Mitsubishi. Im leaning towards the 3000GT over the eclipse, but I have a few questions and Id like the forums honest opinion.
1. Is it an easy conversion for the 3000GT from auto to manual?
2. Is it good on gas?
3. Pros/cons versus an eclipse?
Basically- sell me a 300GT. And if someone wants to sell me a 300GT- Im interested...

1. It is as easy as swapping trannies in any other car. There are many people on 3si.org who have made the swap.
2. 15 to 25 mpg depending upon driving habits. ;)
3. 3KGT pros. Better looking than an eclipse IMO (I prefer the looks of Stealths)
More electronic gizmos (depending upon model and options)
Not classified as a "girly" car (no offence to eclipse owners)
cons. Not a huge aftermarket, especially for the NA models
No proven past of producing super fast 1/4 mile cars.
Expensive to maintain.
More electronic gizmos.
That's it in a nutshell. I have had my car for almost 5 years and have had very little trouble with it. The problems I have had are in line with problems most people have with a 13 y/o car and 140K. It has been my daily driver and has performed flawlessly. Good luck on your purchase, but ultimately it boils down on what you want out of a car. Do I want a good daily driver, fastest car on the block, best looking car in town, these are some of the things you need to ask yourself. It is very expensive getting a 3kgt into the 10's. Very few have done it.
