i dont wanna buy a shep trans again its too expensive, even if he is only a mile away.
i think id like the lower GVR4 gearing anyway
i had a quote of $150 shipped from florida for a 1g DSM trans and i think its been beat on, it had a 6 puck solid clutch in the picture

i dont know it worked great, shifted better than any stock DSM trans ive ever drove, just made a little noise. must be all the hard launches.
or maybe thats what happens with a welded center diff and one tire worn 1/32 more than the other 3.

I vote for both those reasons, lol.

yea i dont know why it ate up one tire more, i just happened to notice one looked worn more, so i dug out my nifty little depth gauge and of course its worn more. not by much at all, with a stock center diff ill be fine, but welded they gotta be perfect or it tears **** up.

I think racer pushes these 1g dsms to the limit more than anyone i know. It seems like its your hobby to find out how far they can go till they break

hey racerx.. howd you split the casing from the bell housing? im tryin to take mine apart and i got all the bolts off, but the seal is holding it together still and i cant break it. i dont wanna stick a screwdriver in and start prying cause i know ill f something up.. howd you seperate yours??
check that.. i broke open the seal.. but there are 3 studs that are still holding the 2 pieces together. i dont wanna pry the two pieces apart, but it really doesnt seem like i have any other options.. anybody got any suggestions?

i just used a rubber hammer and smacked it a few good times to pop it apart ( use a block of wood if you dont have a rubber mallet)
took off the end cover, then take off the VC and 5th gear then the next section splits . and you gotta take the 3 bolts out of the front side for the shift rods, those have the ball and spring for the shift positions., also take out the reverse light switch.,then that section comes off, then you take all the bolts out of the bellhousing and there was a bolt that holds reverse gear in place to take out of the back side up closer to the bell housing. they come apart in 3 parts
need any pictures?

the first pic is with the first 2 sections off, the 2nd pic is the 3rd section off.
be carefull of the 2 piece needle bearing that goes with 5th gear

theyre not that bad untill parts fly out all over the place then you have to figure out where evrything goes.
