OBD II scanner

Has anyone used any of the OBD II scanners that can be bought on an 07 or 08 Outlander. I am thinking about buying one of the handheld models or a software package that can be hooked to my laptop. Let me know if you have tried any of the ones available or have an opinion on ones to avoid. Thanks...

Nice Post the ScanGauge II is pretty neat. Tons of features on it. Nice display too!
