Hi, new to this forum, great resource here!
I have a 2003 eclipse which is showing fault codes PO135 and PO 456 (front O2 sensor and evap emisions small leak). Before I start attacking the car with wrenches, is there anything I should be looking for? Could the two faults be related? I looked under the hood and the front O2 sensor looks easy to change, but I don't want to change it if this fault is being flagged by the other fault.
For an evap leak, do I need to check all the hoses for leaks or loose connections? I am not even sure where the evap canister is located??
Thanks for any help

I doubt they are related, replace that 02 sensor and make sure the gas cap is fully seated.

wait, is that eclipse a v6? cause it might have 2 o2 sensors... my mom's taurus threw the same code, and it wound up being the second 02 on the rear exhaust mani... make sure ur replace the right one, that is, if there is two

That code is listed as Bank 1 sensor 1. Probably the first one. I would just replace it and hopefully that will get rid of both

An o2 sensor will not cause an evap code. Since p0442 is a small evap leak dont worry abt it now, just replace the o2 sensor and clear the code and see if the cel comes back on.

Thanks for the replies. I will change the O2 sensor this weekend and see what happens.
