ok guys, this is my friend trying to convince me that a muffler is the same thing as a cat..

Saleen4265: it serves the same function as a muffler
Saleen4265: so therefore a muffler is the same thing as a cat
Saleen4265: the only difference is a muffler is on a truck
Saleen4265: and a cat is found on cars

WOW.... That's all I can say is wow... Mufflers are only on trucks? Then why do all these ricers buy big mufflers? Cuz they want trucks secretly? Dude time to pull out a tech drawing of a car AND a truck and show your friend (Or even a haynes manual). wow...

muffler: muffles exhaust note. weird how they actually name it after what it does

Catalytic converter: jam packed with insane amount of honeycomb filter to control emissions of exhaust gas. maybe they should have called it the exhaust air purifier?? get him to support his answer on the forum so I also can beat him with a stick.

So since I have a "crossover SUV", I'm allowed to have a muffler and a cat....wow, I feel really special now.
