For what it's worth, the New York Times (i.e. a periodical not expressly read by the automotive enthusiast) this past Sunday, give a pretty darn good review to our 2007 Mittie.

Sounds like they had some good things to say about the Outtie. I think the only problem is getting people in the showroom to check them out!

the same architecture found under the Jeep Compass and Patriot and the
Dodge Caliber.
Can someone please clarify this statement. My dad said the same thing but Ive driven the Compass, it gives the impression your driving a large riding lawnmower.

The GS platform, on which newer Mitsubishi vehicles are based (Outlander, Lancer, EvoX, Delica) was part of Project Global, which Mitsubishi and Dodge Chrysler collaborated on. When they separated in 2004, Dodge Chrysler went on to modify the GS platform to their liking. They may have the same beginnings, but who knows what Dodge did to the original design. So I won't really say they are on the exact same platform. And having the same platform in only part of how the car handles. RISE has a lot to do with the car like handling of the Outlander.
