but i finally got some pictures off of the camera...
(Thw wiper still wasnt on here, it was drying)
This shot gives a good look at the RR quarter...it was wrecked when we got it...
If you look closely, you can see the demon relaxing in the background, waiting for its new heart.
the hood was pretty bad with the typically 80s-90s Chrysler Leprocy..
One chillin' with the bimmer...
and how about some pictures of the aforementioned heart of the demon..
before paint, checking the fitment of the intake..good oiling up top..
with the first set of valve covers, to see how it looks (we probably will not use these ones..im not into chrome)
and with the valve covers that i plan to use...although they are in need of a good bead blasting..these will match the intake better..
and now with it all painted up, with some junk intake and valve covers mocked up..
it will also get fitted up with a set of hooker super comp headers, and of course a balancer...

good lookin laser! what is that motor going into?
Patrick

that motor is going into our 1971 dodge demon...(well, its a 72, with a 71 grille).
this is when we picked it up..got an unbelievable deal on it. the demon is just waiting for the engine and transmission, then some minor paint work...there is a scratch on the LR, and the hood and front rad support needs to be painted...also, to cut back on costs, we are having the wheels painted dark grey instead of buying new ones...its got aftermarket suspension, fiberglass front end, race seats...and it CAME with all of that stuff. the guy had no idea what he had..,.and i had a complete engine and transmission sitting around...ill have the car on the road for under a grand...

Hell yea Patrick.
That demon is sick.
I'm with you on the Valve covers, I don't like the edelbrock chorome ones.

the demon is going to have an engine similar to my old white car, which is making around 500bhp.. except the demon will have a step smaller cam, and no roller top end.

we also got the stroker kit in for the white car...so within the next two years we are hoping to have an 11 second car the mirada), a 12 second car (the demon), a 13 second car (the laser), a 14 second truck (amandas truck), a 15 second car (the stratus), and a 16 second car (the bmw)...we probably have 17 and 18 covered too with my winter beaters...
but, that is all conceptual..who knows what might get sold..

lol and what about them 10's?
Patrick
8/2/2007 12:27:32 PM
who knows...the demon is about a thousand pounds lighter than the mirada...for those not into drag racing, a thousand pounds is about a second in the quarter mile...so if i can get the mirada into the high 11s (its in the low 12s now), in a car 1000lb lighter, it would be damn near the tens..but thats all conceptual...so for now i have a car in the low 12s..

old thread..some new pictures of my two wannaba mitsus together for the first time..at the mopar nationals..
a few hours later on an empty stretch of highway in the middle of nowhere, the stratus got its first good, long, look at the lasers tail lights...
when i get some spare time, im going to check the fitment of the stratus wheels on the laser...

i dont dislike the laser wheels, but they are in rough shape, and im not interested in buying new wheels for it right now.

Nice bro! If the Strat wheels are 5x114 with an offset of 46mm or near that, fitment shouldn't be an issue. Hell, folks put EVO rims on the 1Gs and their offset is what, 38mm(?).
Patrick

the stratus is definately 5x114...i need to find out the offset...i think that its 46 or 48..but im not sure.

it is a 340...fairly stock. it has a 509/292 cam, LD340 intake, it will have a holley carb and hooker headers. my goal is to see how cheap i can get the demon on the street, running 13s. it should be close to 13s with the setup now (with a 2500 stall and 3.55 gears). we plan to use it as a cruiser for now, well, next spring. right now, my goal is looking around the 1000 dollar mark to get it on the street, as we have pretty much everything that we need. it does need some paint work here and there, and there are things in the future that i will get on it, such as an electric water pump and fans, MSD, and possibly better heads...
the build is similar to my white car, which is making around 500bhp, on 87 octane. both motors are built to very low compression specs, so they make decent power on low octane fuel.
