well anything with a higher compression than stock will increase HP

that's kind of a double edged sword. the stock compression in a GS is 8.8:1. now, for extra power you can get 10.5:1 or 12.5:1, both of these will give you power gains but you won't be able to run much boost on them without having problems. also if you go with he 12.5:1 you will have to run premium (93 octane) if not better for it to run safely. if you stick with the 8.8:1 you won't see any power gain or loss, and if you go with the 8.5:1 you will see a little power loss but these are optimum for boost b/c you can run more boost on a lower compression piston. and you get more power out of boost than you do from compression... so it's really up to you. you could get the 10.5:1 drop em in there and whenever you are ready to boost, you could sell them and get the 8.5:1 or if you plan on running a lot of boost. . . 8.0:1 but i haven't seen those sold for the 420a. good luck.

Thats what I thought, but I didn't know what ratio those pistons Haun's sells, I was guessin they would be lower since they are designed in mind that you would be putting on their turbo kit.

you can send them an e-mail or call them, i've talked to them a couple times on the phone and they are very easy to talk to. i'm sure it'll either be 8.5:1 or 8.0:1

i think the hahn kit is 8.8 with a .02 bore

really? i would think with a name like Hahn they would wanna be able to tell their customers they could push 20lbs of boost no problem.... oh well i havent looked on their site for a long time.

so if I get the 10.5:1 wouldn't be able to put a turbo? i think i'm just gonna put 8psi on it, not too much

no you dont want to run those pistons with a turbo. My suggestion is if you are serious about turbocharging it then just get some 8.8 or 8.5:1 forged pistons.

ok, i better get them with the turbo, what about the camshafts?

tons of companies make cams for this car, the ones i'm going with come from Concept Illusions, or now named CI Motorsports. you can check em out at
www.cimotorsports.com they have everything you can possibly want for your car relating to performance. i have bought every part for my bottom end rebuild from them and they provide excellent service. and actally there is a pair on ebay right now for our car. just go to ebay.com under search put in - 420a scroll down till you find them i think they are on the second page.

tha'ts what the forum is here for. these cams were made for the 420a but only after you have turbo'd it... your car would prolly run like crap if you dropped those into your stock 420a

i'm pretty sure those are the same cams that i posted. big names in cams are HKS, Crane, Crower not sure of all the carriers but i like the ones that CI Motorsports produced. i already told you about their website. they built an RS pushing over 500whp so they don't dick around. one thing that caught my attention on that webiste you sent though was that it said those cams were for nonturbo'd eclipse's from 1990-1999 the 420a wasn't put into the cars until 1995. . .

oh ok, i thought the website was not working but it's cimotorsports.net not .com
