PLEASE HELP ME START MY CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK so i had my engine rebuilt, and all.. Well i was told the crank position sensor needed to be replaced cause the car woulde crank over but not start... if it did start then it would only be cause i gave it some gas, but then it would run so ****y for like 4 seconds., and then die. So i finnaly got a NEW crankshaft position sensor, and it took like 3 cranks then started it idle'd at about 1000 rpm's kinda ruff.. then died after about 15 seconds.. And it wont start again.. Please help me... is it the timming or what.??

it could be anything, you need to rule out some thing first, such as correct firing order, fuel pressure, all sensors hooked up, timing being correct... etc. just gotta go over it all and make sure its right.
sometimes a fresh motor is a bitch to get fired up and you might have fouled the plugs by now, check those out.

hey thanks for the help man.... but um... how easy is all that or woulde it be better to have someone who realy knows cars look at it and pay for it... But ill check the plugs and stuff again.. that engine prob has about 150 miles on it....... if that helps....

Is this the 420a Eclipse?  The 420a also uses a cam sensor that will cause the same issues btw, the crank sensor is the one that commonly goes out first...but since this is a new motor, I agree with Racer.
Definitely make sure all the sensors are plugged in.
Did you remove the motor then take it to a shop to rebuild it or did you take the entire car to have the motor rebuilt?

a loose connection on the throttle position sensor gave me a similar issue on a neon more than once. the vibration of the motor had it connecting randomly and it would spit & sputter then die

I should only hope that this is a 4g63, Silver... as he did at one point drive a TSi.. why downgrade?

yea i havnt checked teh cam angle sensor , um.. can u help me out finding were it is and how to get it out and replace it? thanks... but  i had the whole car taken in and rebuilt the engine, but were is the throttle sensor? thnaks alot guys...

is it turbo or non turbo?

Hes yet to tell us...but yes, it does have a CAS

where can i find the concector to the tps? i want to check mine because it randomly does this from time to time. im still new to dsm's  im just trying to get her running like a champ. 96 420a.

i know both motors have a cam sensor,
 but i dont remember my talon having a crank trigger anywhere.
thats why i figure hes got the 420a

Echhh..... my knowledge on the 420a is limited to say the most...

well how do u know exactly what engine it is? its the same block and stuff as the stock one and it says 2.0 DOHC... haha.. Do u think its the timming? Cause the spark plugs have gas on them so its getting fuel there.. Or u think my throttle body needs to be cleaned? It is ported out.. if that helps..

Well, its a 420a... unless its a Spyder, then it COULD be a 4g64.

do as they say the firing order (that is the spark plug cables connected properly), i had that issue with a vw, same symptons same times before dying out, just to find out we plugged them incorrectly.... :P

yea thanks... um.. well the firing order is 1,3,4,2  i think and well my plugs go are in like a box shape with 2 on top and 2 on bottem so im guessing there right if its ( top left is 1, top right is 2, bottom left is 3, and bottom right is 4
