Hey, I have a 2003 Eclipse and I'm having a few problems with it. For about six months now my digital display on the dash (that shows the radio station, etc.) doesn't even come on. Also my cigarette lighter doesn't work. I checked the fuses in the car and they all seem to be ok. If you have any idea what could be a potential problem, please let me know. Thank you

Some fuses are hard to find and sometimes they dont always look burnt out. I missed a burnt fuse once and i was sure that i had already checked it ...

I looked at all the fuses in the fuse box (underneath the hood) and tested them with a tester. It said they were all ok. Are there other fuses that I could have missed?

I could, and probably am, but is there another set of fuses?
On my 2G Eclipse, there were 2 sets of Fuses. There was one under the hood and one under the dash on the drivers side under the steering wheel. could check there.

Have you taken the dash apart and checked for a loose wire? Test the wires where they hook up to the display and lighter to make sure they aren't getting juice.

I had the very same problem with my 2000 GT. In the fuse box inside the car is a fuse marked cig lighter if I am not mistaken it is the 3rd down 2nd row from right. The box says to use a 15 I have used 15 and 20 both work fine however, when ever you use that lighter the fuse blows again. Major defect yet not a recall. Just don't use the lighter you should be fine. BTW the lighter outlet in the armrest is not on that current so use that one for charger. Or keep a few fuses in car at all times.

thats crazy. have you found a way to fix that problem? check the wires to see if they're getting grounded or touching somewhere else?
just a thought

You know what I think. Most car companys 1st Gen of a car always have a few bugs some are not big enough to cause recall. 2000 was 1st year for 3rd Gen. I bet there are a few problems with 2006 1st 4Gen.
With the 2000 I also had a problem with the Left headlight going Dim/Brown I changed with "blue star" bulbs twice when I took to dealer it of course worked fine. I discovered the wiring was bad in socket playing with wire shorted out both headlights but my fogs would come on without headlights so I left it like that. Looked cool with fogs and parking lights only. LOL

Actually a recall is NOT required unless there is proof that the defect can cause deaths. Something like a cigarette lighter fuse going kabloey unless it flashblinds the driver isn't going to end up on the recall list. BUT never fear there IS still hope. There are things called TSB's. Technical Service Bulletins. THOSE will have info on the nonfatal defects and what is required to fix them. Take a trip to a dealership and ask to see a list of TSBs for your car. Perhaps there will be one for the lighter.

I forgot about the TSBs. The cig lighter is not on there. Something for windshild washer switch and headlights (not the problem I had)
Something else with that car if I turned on the rear washer the fluid would just run for ever.

Numbian I think you got electrical gremlins running around in there... You need an exterminator not a mechanic LOL

Yeah the 2000GT had its problems but, I loved that car. I have been Lucky with the batmobile so far except for the sideswipe.
