So not even after an hour after I bought my Eclipse, I got pulled for going 98 in a 65. I tried to play dumb and say "I just bought it and i'm not used to it yet" and the officer replies "That's what a speedometer is for" - So he wrote me for Reckelss Driving (go figure) and if I prepay it it's an automatic license suspension so I decided to go to court and try to work it off. I went to a driving correction class hoping that it might help.
The friend who took me up there got pulled at 103 in a 65 by the same cop minutes after me, and we have court the same day. He took on a lawyer though because he just has his learners and not his license yet. The **** we're in haha, wish us luck please and any advice to help would be greatly appreciated. This is my second ticket and second reckless driving, but I had my first one dropped and off my record with 25 hours of community service, but not so sure on my luck this time.

You want my advice....STOP SPEEDING. If this is your second offense then sorry to say, but you deserve it.

You're right.. I did deserve it since I had it coming to me. Just don't know why it's so hard to stop.

my guess would be that you get all them cylinders(4) under your foot and you cant help but to make everyone else with an eclipse look bad..
if you honestly feel the "need" to go past the speed limit, go to the track where its monitored and safe for you and everyone else around, speeding like that on the streets is just plain retarded....

I don't speed 24/7, I was in a rush that day and my luck just ran short. Guess I had that invincible feeling since I just got back from Basic/AIT - Haha, that feeling didn't last long though. But honestly though, that time in life where someone does that stupidest thing in their life? That was probably my moment right there..but it's in the past now and nothing I can do to change it except just grab my cohones' and face it.

Sorry buddy, I'm going to have to agree with everyone else. My advice would be stop speeding! Before you hurt yourself or someone else, and tell your friend the same stuff! Now I speed, don't get me wrong, but why go more than 30 over?? and then try to fight it? Good luck with it! Maybe you'll get lucky and just get some points knocked off rather than suspension... that'd SUCK!

Yea it was stupid, 30 over was a retard idea.. - I took the correction class for the extra 5 points on my record to help against the -6 from the Reckless Driving, just hope things go in my favor..

I didnt know the rs could go that fast  j/k.  I hope everything works out for you, but please slow down.  I cant say **** though because i was going around 90 to work today myself, but the roads were empty and i was trying to tune my car lol.

I aint ginna lie, I got pulled for just about the same thing, in my slawass camry. 72 in a 40 zone with no one around for miles, except the cop that just happens to be hiding behind a light pole or sumthin you know?

(I dont think I was goin that fast tho... it was a 4 cyl stock camry! I used to floor it to do 35 uphill!)

Its always people with the slow cars that speed like retards.  I had a FAST Evo and now have a supra TT.  guess how many tickets I have?  1 from 6 years ago from a Eclipse GS and I was only 10 over.

IMO I wouldnt be dissapointed if you lost it.  I HATE when kids come on these sites saying wish me luck or what ever.  How retarded is your buddy.  he NEEDS a swift smack upside the head too lol

Slow it down next time.  going 100 isnt that cool hahaha.

It's always when the roads are empty, I didn't even see the Cop and I always have an eye to spot there before it's too late, so i'm suprised when I saw the flashing lights come up behind me. Just wasn't my day really, was late for the game as well because of that.

I'm not that much of a retard, sure I admit it was a dumba** thing of me to do, but both tickets were a year apart with different vehicles. I can't come up with a good excuse on why i'd go that fast except for being late for a game. I also didn't come to this site for good luck haha, just wanted some help with my Eclipse and to meet new people. We all gotta start somewhere you know, I just started in a worst case haha.

True true hahaha..  take it slow man,  I dont know what it is.  When I had slow cars I drove alot faster.  id average like 80PH on the highway.  now a days with my Evo and Supra I would not even go 65 on highway.  I find myself sitting right around 60 MPh.  Its better than way anyway because when someone desides they want to mess with me 60MPH go point is where turbo cars like to rocket,  but that doesnt happen very much either

Haha, it's that need for speed. But yea, i'm watching my speed a lot more now any way. Came to thought that it's not worth the extra gas to get somewhere 5 minutes earlier or what ever. Guess it's the adrenaline rush

being late for something doesnt warrant goin 100mph... i think guys with slow cars feel like overcompensating for something, i dunno... i had my old rs up to 125 before on the highway, but that was a looooong time ago, like 3 years when i didnt even have my body work done

True haha and it's my bad for taking it that far, I just bought my Eclipse 30 minutes prior so not a great way to start off. Not much done to it either, came with a cold air intake and that's about it so i have a long way to go with it.

slap a cat back on there and call it a day, no sence going nuts on an RS, may as well save up for a GST or GSX honesly...
i havent had a ticket in my 4 years of driving and only 1 close call (75 in a 60) cop let me walk....

Just be happy with your oversized go-kart (thats how eclipses feel to me) and just cruise with it...no 420a was made to be a race car...

you know i don't exactly have a clean slate.
and luckily i have learned my lessons.
but a guy i went to school with went head on with a woman in a 50 mph zone two days ago,
he lived...the woman wasn't so fortunate.
he was doing somewhere around 80 mph.
his car went end over end.
her car looked like it went thru a grinder.
and he has to live with this.
and once he's out of the hospital he will be in court being tried for involuntary vehicular manslaughter.

im not saying your gonna kill someone,
but why risk your life or anyone elses.

again,
not trying to be a downer.
but i would rather put it in perspective before its all too real.

besides its more fun to take it to the track, whether you like drag or auto-X

Hell yea haha, 32 on highway I believe -- Well I just got back from court, the judge said he'd send me to jail on the spot, but I got it down to a 90 day license restriction with a fine of $371 -- Got off lucky.. things could've been a lot worse.
