I have a 93 diamante (sohc) that I am having problems with. The car will let out a cloud of smoke when I accelerate from a stop. Have been thinking that I am having a problem with my valve guide or the ports in the head, but am unsure. If there is anyone that would be able to steer me in the right direction that would be great. thanks.

Try doing a compression test.
