does anyone know how to stop the squeeling brakes on a 03 galant?

First thing are they new brakes? If they are there is a break in period for brake pads. If it's THAT bad then you might put some valve grind compound on the pad but make sure you clean the pads after a few days of driving (An inspection station here in VA failed a car I worked on because they though valve grind was grease IDIOTS...).

I don't know what kind of 'squeal' you're experiencing. If you have new pads, perhaps Sanguinius' suggestion will help. If they're not new pads, consider this:
Since the mid-90's, just about every OEM and aftermarket manufacturer of brake pads puts a long flat metal tab on either the inner or outer pad that points toward the rotor. When the pad is almost worn down to the metal, this metal tab is designed to rub against the rotor and cause a loud ringing sound. This is to warn you that if you don't replace the pads soon, that you'll be grinding into your rotors.
Only a visual inspection of the noisy brake will confirm this condition.

change your pads....it squeeling because the indicators probly touchin the rotor surface.
