But u don't. I mean 6k is defiantly not red line for the Evo. u just have to know @ what rpm u can launch with out loosing any traction and still take off fast

well the only thing with the awd is that you dont have to worry about traction you can launch as high as you want. As long as your not pushing really high HP. All you have to do is make sure you come offf the clutch allitle slow so you dont bog the car out. This kid is just dumb because he lets the friggin rev limiter sit there for so long. Its not good to do that anyway. But i bet he figured. Alright i'll preboosst a bit and smoke him, haha

Lol yeah. Still I wouldn't try launching at redline anyways. It kills ur clutch and when u hold it as long as that dude did before launching ur bound to do a little engine damage. After a few lauches like that i'm not suprised he busted a couple pistons.

That's what I'm sayin. Bounce the limiter a little fine but this ****-o sat there bouncin it for a WHILE.

If you bounce it hard off the limiter you build sperts of boost so you will get a harder launch it you launch like I do at 6k then you have 0 PSI on the launch gotta waite on lag for anything I only so that becaise I dont want to have to pull a tranny off and Transfer case to be replaced. really him hitting the limiter like that is no different from a car drifting sideways they bounce off the limiter so hard untill you straighten out I have done that in my car before John was with my actually lol

I can understand that but there's a difference. Like I said I can understand doing it just not as long as he did and also during a drift you're still under load.

yea i remeber that. Nice one right in the rain, only because i forgot my plane ticket

LOL that sucks. But in drifting they actually have crazy nice clutches that can handle all that and they usually have a built bottom end not stock.

Im not talking drift cars Im talking street driving and kicking out I do it every now and then.
As for from a stop the longer you sit on the limiter the more constant the boost stays at first it wont have any thing a few seconds later it will spret like 1-4 PSI maybe and you can launch it at a higher PSI than 0 so it makes a differnce

I mean if from a stop I floor the gas on a rev by redline I will have about 13-15 PSI but to time it right and drop the clutch is almost impossible to do

I know u weren't talking about drifting but there was someone else talking about how in drifting they bump the limiter all the time and that's becuase they have killer clutch setups.

no man my stock clutch when I am sideways I crank off the limiter as does NESpeed RX7. it just bounces off it untill traction is found

Well, i'll be seeing u talking about buying a new clutch soon then...............LOL jk

the rev limiter has nothing to do with your clutch. Power output maybe but I am not near the edge of that yet. my stock EVO clutch is at almost 30K now and still grabs as hard has it did at 12k no slipping what so ever. If I launch the piss out of it for a while ill blow it out pretty quick

That's cool. I thought u were saying u double clutch when ur drifting and hitting the rev limiter cause then u would defiantly be burning ur clutch bad. But ur right.

oh ok...I was like huh how is that burning the clutch lol. I am on borrowed time with my stock clutch since on average they are gone at 15-20k and I am at 29k now. That tells you the car is taken care of lol no launching or any of that. same with stock brake pads they are normally toast at about 12k and mine are still stock ones...I just need new calipers because they are turning pink and white , which is common on the EVO and it is covered under warrenty
