4 or 6 cylinder? I'm fairly sure it's a belt. But then again my Sentra has a chain...

the engine is v6 24v
if you know where theres a good DIY on changing a timming belt or the tensioner

its a belt, most nissans uses a chain. but mitsu's. belt.
