anybody know where the timing alignment marks go and any tips to changing the timing belt on a 2000 rs with a 4g64 engine??? everythings completely stock wheather or not that matters???????

also, what else would i need to replace knowing that nothing (enginewise) has ever been changed before??? and what is the price i'm looking at for all the parts??? i'm doing the work myself to save labor charges

Thats alot of work to do, the only advice I can correctly convay to you is to get a shop manual. That will go through everything and is deff worth the 50 bucks. Also change the tensioner bolt/pully and check all of your other belts for excessive wear.

I'd also say your water pump while you're in there. I'd do all the belts just for the fact hat you already have to take them off and they aren't that expensive.

i was looking in my haynes and it doesn't say where exactly to line up the cams, pistons, etc. does top dead center involve the outside pistons being at the top or the inside pistons???

the haynes manual is crap for the 3G. see if the 3G online service manual can help you out.
