PS-The ABS clunk does happen in reverse too. Found that out today!!!!!!

Yes it does and it also happens turning. Its a ft traveled thing because its about the same spot in the drive everytime.

You do realize its normal right?

Oh yeah I know it normal for it to do it's ABS self-check (it is cycling the relief valve)

I had it flashed this morming. Now the pedal feels much better than before.
I think the TSB updates may help save some gas as the trip meter show a change on mpg.

I dropped it off tonight. Unfortunately Im such a tard...I printed out the TSBs a few times and left all of them at home. Then I couldnt remember that they were on the nhtsa website which holds much more leverage than the forums here

Then I forgot about the radio fading in and out...aaah well, at least I remembered to take it to the dealer.

I hoped I would have an update. I guess the event is so special as to qualify for the Platinum Mitsu tech to do it. Ooooh Ahhhh  I guess well see, hopefully its not another level of BS

I printed out the TSB for the throttle hesitation found on page 4, I will be going to the dealer tomorrow with it. Does anyone have the transmission TSB so I can take that with me also? I know the TSB for the throttle clearlly says to do the transmission one at the same time, but its mitsu technicians we are talking about here, so I'd rather just show them both in plain black and white.

Go to  http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/home.cfm and look up all of them. It wont let you print the TSB but at least your printing off the reference to the TSB from a govt website which seemed to hold some value with the dealer.

I finally got mine done, its much improved. They also replaced the antenna which I really didnt want them to do, and its much worse that way
People bitch if the dealer doesnt do something and Im bitching that they did lol

edited to fix linky

So you think the throttle hesitation specifically is improved noticeably?
I'm starting to worry that I'll understeer off the road once it starts snowing with this hesitation
I just did my first oil change myself, but might swing by the dealer if I can schedule a quick reprogramming.

I was thinking the same thing, I figured it could cause you to wreck in the snow.

Im getting much better gas mileage, from 21-22 to 25mpg and most of it was in the hills of west virginia so big difference there. Ill know for sure on my next tank.

Oh and something else, the gas left thing starts at 400 miles instead of 320 miles.

Took mine in yesterday.  After getting into an argument with the service manager over how to properly follow the TSB,  I believe their mechanic did it correctly, since I noticed the mech. wrote a note on the service form which said both ecu and tcm reprogrammed.  The throttle does feel much more responsive from off idle to initial acceleration.  Very important tsb to update asap.  After my experience with the service manager, who by the way, also refused to let me talk to the mechanic,  I can see why Mitsubishi has had difficulties in the U.S. market.  They should train their dealerships a little better in the way of customer service.   I kind of expected the response I recieved, since I didn't buy my Outlander from them.   The wife and I ran out of that place when we were first looking at Outies after the salesman came after us like sharks smelling wounded prey in the water.

When I took mine in for the throttle hesitation, they flashed to ECU but the mechanic said "it" wouldn't "let him" flash the TCU. My vehicle is an APR 07 build. Could it be that Mits had corrected part of this problem by Apr but not all of it and that is why the mechanic was not able to do the whole thing. Or......is it more likely that the mechanic just did something wrong?

I guess one way to find out is to ask them to document the TCM and ECM software version as displayed by the computer. As per TSB, they have to document that information on a sticker under the hood. After that you could compare with what is supposed to be from the TSB.
I'm kind of in the same boat. I will go in next Saturday to clarify this issue. I'm sure somethng has been done (right) since the throttle hesitation and the gear hunting are gone.

Got my Outie flashed today and what a difference it made. I had the combo flash done (I have a Dec '06 build date) and when I left the shop I noticed right off how different the shifting the throttle response was. Glad I got it done. Now to monitor the fuel mileage to see any changes.

anyone from the las vegas area? bought my 07xls last april and have my first visit to the dealer for the periodic inspection last oct20. asked them about the tsb and they doesn't seem to know. one of the guy there told me that my car should be left for a day if i want them to fix the tsb when i thought as to from what i read from here that it would only take an hour to reprogram/fix it. that lead me to think that he or they doesn't know how. by the way it's the centinial people's mitsubishi. for those from las vegas, from what dealer did you have your outie's tsb fixed? PLEASE HELP i have another appointment this friday beacause the periodic inspection still flashes. the mmcs warning doesn't anymore because the guy from the dealer erased it instead of updating.

You could check the manufacturing month on one of the labels on the door frame on the driver side.

since I had the dealer fix the throttle lag for the tsb from this
http://outlander.freeforums.org/tsb-07-23-006-and-tsb-07-13-007-ecm-throttle-hesitation-t70.html

The mechanic did not put the sticker?

Also, looking at the TSB #, it isn't the same. Instead on my receipt the
TSB # is 08-55-002 REV
Help?

I have been reading this thread with great interest. First of all I am assuming that the throttle lag issue exists in Canada as well, but still have not read that the TSB exists for Canadian vehicles (my Outtie certainly has the lag - I am in Newfoundland). Also I would like to determine the effect of the fix on gas mileaga, as there are conflicting reports in this thread about decreases in mpg and increases in mpg after the fix. If someone can enlighten me on these issues, I would greatly appreciate it.

The TSB applies to the Canadian vehicles too. First I was under the impression that the f/e dropped a bit, but after 7 months I don't think about it anymore. I'm OK with the numbers I'm getting and I prefer the way the car drives after the upgrade.

Ok, the TSB on page 4 of this Post says it for 2007 models prior to May 1, 2007 or June 1, 2007 depending on 4wd vs 2wd.  My build date is July 2007, but i still feel some pedal lag.  I've bee trying to deal with it, but it's starting to bug me.

I haven't called my dealer yet to check it out, but do you think they will still be able to flash the ECM/TCM or is it a moot point to ask?
