I was just wondering if you guys have any advice on tuning, I'm going to be putting in a safcII next weekend. I have a 2nd gen with turboback exhaust, mbc, bov, intake, and a lotta other stuff, just not a turbo upgrade yet. I was planning to lean it out a little because its really rich right now.

Ok first off how do you know it running lean? You don't...you need a wideband O2 sensor, or a slow EGT. Then you find out the ideal AFR and tune your car to it. I doubt the car is running rich if anything its running to lean right now....depending on your boost setting. Your best bet is to get a wideband first before the AFC....the AFC is useless with out it, don't even try to tune with out it you will probably blow your motor, especially if you think you want to lean it out.

He is 100% correnct on all points. I have an SAFCII and a wideband and trust me it is easy to tune and figure out but without the wideaband you are risking blowing your motor pretty easily. If you have bigger than stock injectors then your rich if not you are probaly on the lean side slightly I would strongly not recommend tuneing with out the wideband if you have one youll have your car tuned within an hour it is that easy but you also know youll be in the safe zone still and not risking blowing it up

that is what you want bat that is a high price for a wideband O2. Try either ebay (not totally a good choice but an option) or go here, it is much cheaper. You don't need the PLX one if all your using it for is the SAFC

My wideband is from tearstone and it is easy to read and it is interchangable too, meaning you can change it so it has a black or white face and a black or silver bezel

Do you have any fuel mods? If not you should really consider purchasing a fuel pump and injectors before or with the AFC....

I think the SAFC would be better to buy before the fuel and just leave zerod out other wise he will have to wait on installing the injectors if he buys them before the SAFC

that should work out, you may even have a small use for the SAFC with only that fuel pump but if your getting injectors shortly I wouldnt even bother tuning it untill then

Don't forget to install a adjustable fuel pressure regulator.....you need one bad with that Walbro if you don't already.

The AEM UEGO read AFRs in real time digital I dont think the datalogger does but I think with both the logger can log the UEGOs readings at a given RPM which is ideal for tuneing. I may be wrong I have never used a datalogger just the AEM UEGO

Since were talkin about fuel setups, how do I know what size of injecters to get and would it be a wise idea to replace to fuel rail? and the fuel presure what should that be at? This setup would be for my 420a with built bottom end, star turbokit and port and polished head with 1mm oversize valves, just to give you background on what im using this for. and Is the amount of boost I give my motor depending on the fuel setup?? this is my first motor build up

all of that depends on what you tune the car with and what PSI you will be running. Talk to Slow420a I think they sell fuel kits with everything you need for the 420a

I want to run the highest and safest psi for daily driving, just like everyone else, Im not sure what High and low boost is best for these cars, im still learning, I know 25psi would be pushing it right?

25 PSI is not pushing it depending what mods you have, stock turbo will never do that much. a 16G wouldnt even do that much. I mean a 16G can get you almost 400WHP which is still good on the stock motor and add some cams you good to go. I have the stock EVO 16G running 21PSI daily with Full exhaust and tune. on my car 16 PSI is stock boost 20 is stock for newer EVOs on a DSM stock is 9-12 so that is low boost. high boost would be anything 18+ IMO
