well bought the car running fine for about five miles started tapping befor i even turned it off shot a rod out of the oil pan

That sucks... did the car actually have any oil in it or was it bone dry?

nah it was fresh and full of oil but soon as that rod went all the oil went with it

something is not right. Where you beating on it anytime during or just before you could hear the knocking?

nah i kepted that thing under 3000rpms and then it shot befor i even turned the car off i droped the oil pan and took the rod out because it snapped from the piston i'll take a picture of it and post it and show how ****ed up the rod really is cause it came from the crank and the piston and the crank forced it out the oil pan

I agree with Emonz57. No matter how weak the 7bolt rod is compared to the 6bolt, that **** shouldn't just snap without a culprit. If it was full of oil before you took off, more than likely you had an oil pump failure. I'd like to know if it's the #4 rod because the last 4 7bolts that I've worked either spun the #4 rod bearing or actually snapped it.
