the 420a, if properly built, is perfectly capable of putting out 300 whp. my buddy bought a new block, and it cost him a grand...
get435, howell's forged performance bottom end kit alone for the 2.0 is 1200 dollars...and that is just pistons/rods/etc...no crank...

ok what i ment is up to 300 hp the tranny will be ok. but you motor will need rebuilt. now rather than buying a whole long or short block from a dealer you might want to consider going to a macinest and having them bid you on makeing the 420a you have now an awesome turbo motor. going to a macinest or building it yourself is way cheeper than buying a long or short block from a dealer for those motors. i just rebuilt my motor i am going NA trying to make the fastest NA eclipse at my location but it was only 1400 for my macinest to make the motor turbo ready and that is with a 3 year warentee. i only spent 1200 on my motor and is is .25 over high comp pistons hardend rods .10 on the crank fully ballanced and comp valves guides so on and ported and polished. so it is up to you what u want to do.

i don't think i know what you mean??? i know i have to get some parts before i can install my turbo but are you saying to get all of them and then have a mechanic install them all at once and it will only cost me about 1200??? please explain get435

ok what i am saying is before you slap a turbo kit on the car get the motor built. take it to a macinest to get the work done or do it your self if u buy the parts yoursefl you will save money. but it will cost anywhere from 1200-2000 for the motor to be done right.

all internal parts from the heads down. valve: retainers guides rods "port and polish if wanted" block: crank, rods, berrings for the rods to connect to crank, pistons "will need a differant boar and stroke for turbo motor" all motor internals.

So im in the process of making a parts list to make my 420a block turbo safe. How do I know what size head gasket to order for the boar size of the block? do I get to pick that size out when I checkout? How much can the 420a block be board, will I make more horsepower or torqe with a lager boar, will the block be weaker with the max boar.

I sure hope it's easier to put a turbonetics on my 3g as opposed to everything said here.
