what is the trans fluid capacity on a '02

I just had the filter, gasket, and fluid changed. He charged me for 14 qts!!!  The manual lists the capacity as 8. The mechanic claims it takes 14 qts. when you flush it. I'm sure he's full of it as the capacity is the capacity, period. This is a 2002 Lancer, 2 liter engine. Can anyone tell me? Thanks, ron

the capacity is based on the amount the flushing machine holds, not the trans.
