Me and my friends had a argument they said a gsx is faster, but i think a gs-t is is that true

THE GSX HAS A FASTER TAKE OFF IF YOU DROP THE CLUTCH AT 6000RPM BUT THE GS-T IS FASTER BECAUSE IT IS LIGHTER (0-60 IN 6.5 SEC) BUT THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THE WHEEL SPIN BUT I WOULD SAY THE GS-T IN THE LONG RUN.

-I LOVE THE GSX!!

GST has a speed limiter , GSX doesn't.  In a 1/4 the GSX might take a gst because of the awd advantage.  Highway, there's no contest.  A gst would accelerate quicker.

the gsx has the advantage everywhere except the hwy/interstate.  for the reason that it is heavier.  if we're talking stock vs stock...1/4's might be close, with the GSX.  mainly the fact of wheelspin and GST's have bad launches.  just the way they are made.  the gsx will be a car length ahead out of the start, and stay there because the run isn't long enough for the weight difference to be affected.

so ru saying the gs-t has  a governor, and cant u get a ecu chip for that?

not sure if the chip will do anything, except empty your pocket.  they are expensive, unless you have a 95 or 96.  otherwise you need to switch out the whole ECU?  ( correct me if im wrong ) but there is something pretty major to just ADD a chip.  unless you send your whole comp in, but then no driving for up to 2 weeks.

TMO supposedly made a chip for the ecu, but why buy a chip?  check the VFAQS for a FREE mod to remove the speed governer.  PEOPLE, YOU CAN FIND EVERY AND ANYTHING YOU NEED ON DSMS IN THE VFAQS!!!! FOR FREE!!!!

Also, the awd system takes up power.  Remember, it's *full-time awd*, it never stops working or cuts off no matter how fast you are going.  On 1g, drivetrain loss is about 15% for fwd.  On AWD 1g's the drivetrain loss is close to 25%.  So with a fwd, you'll put more power to the ground instead of using it to spin dead weight.  I'm not too sure if the same ratio is used for 2g's, since the tranny and rear-end is way different than a 1g.

...so its better fwd for race?

Depends on the race.  A highway race, which is potentially dangerous and very irresponsible, a fwd will win.  A 1/4 mile drag the awd should win because of the awd advantage.  The 1/8 mile race and they're aren't many cars than can beat an awd with power.

fwd+highway=win

awd+drag=win
