The car starts fine if you jump the car from the battery to the starter but by turning the key and pressing clutch I get nothing.  its a 95 GSX, It has a new starter, new battery, and new cables. I think it is either clutch start switch or starter relay. I can check the clutch start switch by just unplugging it but what about the starter relay where is it on this car.

im thinking the clutch start switch. if you can start it by jumping battery to starter it shouldnt be the starter relay

Seriously how can you people think its has anything to do with the starter. If it was the relay then dont you think the car wouldnt start when its getting jumped either . Id say jump the car, and then check the voltage at the battery with a tester. You should be getting 14 volts. If its less then you have a bad alternator. Also check the terminals on the battery, they may be corroded. Just replace those

With mine, the connection on the back side of the starter doesnt seem to get a good conection and I have to pop it off and put it back on..  If it doesnt have a good connection it wont be getting enough power to start it..

when i was swapping out my old blown engine we could start it like you are but when i tried to use the key it wouldnt do anything there was a little plug that wasnt plugged in on the back side of the motor and as soon as i plugged it in bam it turned on. so i dont know if that could be it im just giving you another option. but if you werent swapping motors i dont know how that would come off or unplugged hope this helps

Actually TE, when the starter on my moms GST was sticking, the added power would sometimes free it.
