can you put turbos on an auto sl if not can i put in a vr4 motor instead but keep the auto trany.

Yes you can. A member here has done it. JomoJr I think is his screen name.

You should start by getting your car in tip-top running shape before worrying about more power...

For a DOHC, somewhere in the neighborhood of 16's for an auto, 15's for a stick.

Yes you can do it! :) Best soultion is to swap in a TT ecu, however you need to make some serious modifications to the wiring harness. Then your cruise control wont work lol. You can use the NA ecu, and many have, but you will have a harder time tuning the car. Another thing is you will need to upgrade your tranny. check out this link for more detailed info 3si.org na to forced industion thread Im just generalizing in here this morning. There alot more details for sure.

Fyi I used to run a best of 16.5 in the 1/4 as an NA ATX. My best time to date is a 13.2 as a TT ATX :)
