Yea same here. Always like to do my own work. And if its a problem that you cant handle yourself then research is the best way to go about it, like you said. So when you go to take it in you have an idea of what the problem could be so that they dont try and screw you.

here's just another guess cuz I'm thinking too much which is dangerous LOL...but what about bad wheel bearings?  They can make a "grumble" when going bad...OK I quit LOL

wheel bearings wil groan and vary with vehicle speed, but not only on acceleration, they make noise all the time. if its AWD rear gears or t-case will do it if the oil is low (usually by then its junk), its not very often the front gears wear out - i can figuire out anything by listening, a grubling sound on acceleration could be anything

My noise is on acceleration and its kind of choppy if you can imagine and it seems like its kinda tweekin out at times with its idle speed, it will suddenly start idling at a higher rpm right outta the blue. If its getting stuck could this cause my engine to grumble when accelerating mostly it is when i am in the lower gears it tends to smooth out by 5th gear. Hey Silvercoupe  they wanted more than what it was gonna be at Mitsubishi and I just mentioned the Automotive bureau and they kept the agreed upon price. But the advisor had the gall to tell me after I took it back the first time that they did not want to bother with it anymore they had gave it their best shot! I told them they would not be trying on my car anymore and asked if I could give remove his spleen,  I had never done it before but I would give it my best shot!
