Man, those are some mighty rusty parts, lol.

racerx55 -> RE: update on my mess (12/3/2006 6:38:45 AM)

good old rusty ohio - evrything sat for over a year, including the car, its all cleaned up & looks new now, im alot farther along than the pics, i need to update again, lol, i have to get a new clutch, the one from the car was a 2wd clutch and i dont trust it to last very long with AWD and the abuse i put on cars so im gonna run up to Summit today and grab a centerforce 3800 Lb set and lighter 11 LB flywheel, and i think i want a header while im there so i can get this damn thing put together

racerx55 -> RE: update on my mess (12/3/2006 7:05:08 AM)

also would like to get rid of the big chrome coffee can muffler and put a 40 series flowmaster on, im just not sure if it'll sound all that great

racerx55 -> RE: update on my mess (12/4/2006 4:25:05 AM)

it runs great, is way too quiet and the alternator dont charge but looks brand new.. one more thing to add to the list[:'(]
already checked over and tested evrything the alt is crap
has a rough idle, i pulled the valve cover off it has cams that are definately not stock, i gotta look for a part number to see what they are

TheEngineer -> RE: update on my mess (12/4/2006 8:06:37 AM)

wow that car is just a box of suprises, haha. It seems like everything you take apart you find something new

racerx55 -> RE: update on my mess (12/4/2006 8:41:02 AM)

its crazy, lol, so i took it for a ride , it dont spool till about 3500 rpm, right before the turbo spools (about 3000 - 3200) it starts burbling horribly rich, then pours a huge cloud of black smoke out then the front tires go up in a blaze (AWD parts are still on the garage floor)
its not rich at all untill its WFO and gets to about 3k then it just goes to hell for a second then comes on like someone kicked it in the ass, it runs alot stronger than i expected out of it for no adjustments at all, just gotta figure out the sudden dump of fuel, i did notice right when it does it the retarded stock boost guage jumps to 10 or so, what a waste of space

silvercoupe97 -> RE: update on my mess (12/4/2006 9:00:21 AM)

Are you using the donor car's ECU or the ECU that was in the original car?

racerx55 -> RE: update on my mess (12/4/2006 9:13:21 AM)

using the original ECU (93 talon Tsi) basically the same as the donor car (91 laser RS) all of the sensors looked the same, but i changed alot of them over, i do have a check engine light i need to figure out and the low coolant light never goes out even though its full, im not exaclty sure how to get codes out of a DSM without a scanner, i know how to do it on most other cars
but remember i have the 2g MAF wired in, different injectors and stuff so i'm probly gonna need to just work the bugs out of it and get a AFC
and not to mention the turbo timer doesnt work, its just there for looks right now
