Factory alarm in my '01 Montero XLS malfunctioned. It was activating when it shouldn't and couldn't be turned off with the key. After pulling enough fuses I got it to shut off. Replaced fuses and now it doesn't do that, but I can't seem to get car into programming mode to set a new keyless remote. Wondering if the alarm and/or RKE even function now and how I can check them?
Any help/fixes/tests would be appreciated.
