the alternator quit charging, the charge light, brake light and low coolant light all come on. when i rev it up higher and it starts to charge a little bit those 3 lights dim, anyone ever had that happen with a bad alternator? the alternator is definately bad, and i checked all the wires out for correct power / ground, it just seems odd all those lights come on together

Yup, I did. Not to mention the interior lights no longer came on after awhile (divertered power to necessary items), the headlights came on, on their own and so forth.
I changed my alternator and found a loose bolt/nut on the alts/battery's fusible link (which may have been the final straw and killed my alternator).
