well it looks like I'll be getting another 16g, but I have a couple questions.

I'm checking out slowboyracing, and I was wondering what is the benefits of getting a 34mm internal gate over the 31mm internal gate?

the 34mm wastegate is more suited toward higher boost situations. With the 16g your really not looking at anything over 23psi. So i would just get the 31mm. The 34mm is also supposed to have less boost creep because of the larger flapper but for what you need it for, its not worth the extra money for it.

Actually, the 34mm is good if you plan on running low boost also. If you do run low boost, you will creep with a smaller wastegate (not that a 34mm is huge mind you).
I would recommend getting the larger wastegate because it's a good safety especially for the motor. I wouldn't skimp on it to be honest with you. The price of getting a larger WG is nothing compared to detonating and needing a rebuild

I know its a little late but heres a link for the t28 from FP
http://linux.forcedperformance.net/merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=FP&Product_Code=TUDSMBig28&Category_Code=DSM-Turbo

$675...
which im pretty sure actaully is cheaper than a 16g with 2g conversion kit and o2 sensor

Well I'm already set up for a 16g since I have one, its just junk. All I think I need is a new 16g and some new gaskets.

And I'm going to get the upgraded wastegate because I like to play it safe when it comes to my motor.

Thanks guys, you have all been helpful.

Why not send your turbo to like bushur and have it rebuilt??? rather than waisting money on another one

I looked on the buschur site and I didnt see anything about rebuilt turbos. How much does it cost and how long does it take?

id reccomend any 16g over a t28 as well. By the way, exhaust housing side is ported to prevent boost creep, not to help spool
