ORIGINAL: thestealth Next time though, please get your measurements correct...The 40 in GT40 is the measurement in inches (not centimeters ) from the ground to the roof. lol yeah I did realize that after I posted it, all I could think of off the top of my head was the GT40 was shorter, so I took a shot in the dark

ORIGINAL: tidus10 oh blow me, thats like saying a talon tsi is a totaly diff car than the gsx.... ummm, you are way off base here man...the gt40 was built in the late sixties to compete with Ferrari in the 24 hour races. Compete it did, by winning 3 in a row. I think Ford got out of the racing scene after trounching Ferrari. Some privateers continued to use the platform for a few more years, most notably the gurney cars that had a 427 in it. Take my info at face value because it's been awhile...do some research on your own. The GT40 is one of the baddest machines to grace a race track. http://www.tornadosportscars.com/TS40/GT40history.html <---learn a little something about Ford and the GT40 you may not have known. The GT is a retro design, but using a completely different platform than was used in the 60's (it was of English design back in the day). It is bigger in every dimension than it's 60's predocessor.

Sanguinius Speaking of building engines and whatnot... I'm looking at a full rebuild on that G54B in my 'quest. Any thoughts or whatnot on that? I was thinking of boring it 30 over with a different set of pistons as well as either a 3 or 5 way valve job. Any other ideas there? Valve jobs help but you need someone to blend the throat to the valves so everything flows smooth. And match your cam with your gearing, header size and needs. For myself, I know more about parts I like for small block Chevys. But engines for the most part work on the same premise, more gas and air in, the more explosion, the faster the rpm, with correct gearing the faster you go. I was hoping some of the board experts would chime in. Personally, what I would like to do next after the Prostreet is done is a Ratrod, or take a body like a '97 GS-T and gut it and build a full frame with a 4 link or another ladder bar system or independent rear suspension and put a small block in it with a minimum of 383ci and minimum of 450hp. I like the build of the cars, making the not so common possible.
